Bio

Michael Lynch really was Revived!

The new band that is 'causing a storm in London', but London came pretty close to not meeting the person who is integral to the existence of Michael Lynch Revived.

The name of the band, Michael Lynch Revived or MLR, came from the rough times experienced by Lynch over the years and seemed appropriate when you consider his near-death experience.

Michael Lynch has been writing music as a self taught guitarist, mainly non structured riffs on and off from 2001 to 2003 in Dublin Ireland. Forced to take a break and put music on a backburner when the company he was employed by went out of business. Lynch took the life changing decision to head to London to seek work and continue writing.

Little did he know at the time that this was a choice that would change his life and outlook forever...

He struggled to find work to sustain a living and his music career faltered. After finding a shift job Lynch starting drinking heavily. This progressed to regular drug usage.

Oblivious to life around him Lynch continued drinking and taking drugs until in 2005 when he discovered a lump under his left arm. Heavily into his addiction he chose two nights of clubbing rather than facing medical attention. On the second day after leaving the last club, the lump burst inside his arm with near fatal consequences.

Lynch nearly experienced cardiac fatality caused by a blocking of the pathway to his left arm and this in turn left him in a permanent state of pain for nearly a year afterwards.

He ended up in The Priory shortly after to help control the pain. It gave him a lot of time to think about what he was doing, what he had done and what he could really do with his life and his passion for music.

With help from Lynch's family, mainly his sister, he took up writing again in late 2005, progressing on to record solo tracks he had finished arranging. Almost all of the songs a reflection on Lynch's experiences, with 'Crash' written about the downside associated with drugs.

Looking to the future Lynch started recruiting musicians late 2007. The band includes Ashley Beecham (bass) a bass guitarist since the age of 15, Ale Paolillo (keyboards) who has a classical piano background, Christian Buratti (lead guitar), and David Charles (drums & percussion) who has worked with major signed artists such as Gabrielle and Terence Trent D'arby. So far they have had several successful headline gigs.

In June 2008, Michael Lynch Revived signed a non-exclusive deal with LP33.tv owned and run by Andrew Bentley, previous CEO of EMI. This deal includes movie licensing and local to Los Angeles media coverage as one of their featured artists.

The life-changing experience, which took Lynch almost a year to recover from helped pave the way for the new tracks being recorded in Mayfair & Uptown Studios from 20th Feb 2009. These tracks will show the strength of the writing Lynch has gained, combined with a very memorable live show.
