Biography

Michael Rosso is a Canadian singer /songwriter, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. His love for music began as a child, listening to his father and uncle play the guitar. Shortly afterwards Michael himself picked up the guitar, and initiated a passion for music and songwriting that would last him a lifetime.

In 2009 his R&B song "Be Like You", a ballad describing a young child's positive outlook on life despite his abusive upbringing, was a Finalist & Lennon Award winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Michael has since moved away from R&B, and is focusing his songwriting primarily on acoustic/folk music.

Michael works out of his home studio in Toronto and is currently working on his new album. He is involved in every aspect of his productions from the songwriting to the final mixdown, and is constantly working to perfect his craft.

Lyrics

If Everything's Alright

Written By: Michael Rosso

They tell you every thing's all right
While bombs are falling day and night

They tell you everything's ok
While millions starve to death each day

They tell you its ok
That everything's the same
They give you just enough to live
So you don't stray away

Chorus

If everything's all right
Then why are (the) soldiers fighting?

If everything's all right
Then why's (is) the climate changing?

If everything's all right
Then why's (is) the middle class gone?

If everything's all right
Then why are we scared for tomorrow?

They tell you everything's all right
While it gets harder to survive

They tell you everything's ok
While polar icecaps melt away

They tell you its ok
That everything's all right
They give you just enough to live
So you don't want to fight

Chorus

If everything's all right
Then why are (the) soldiers fighting?

If everything's all right
Then why's (is) the climate changing?

If everything's all right
Then why's (is) the middle class gone?

If everything's all right
Then why are we scared for tomorrow?

Bridge

If everything's all right
Then why do mothers cry?
When soldiers die for no good reason
Fighting for your lies

If everything's all right
Then why do fathers weep?
When jobs are lost and families broken
Tossed into the streets

If everything's all right
Then tell the people why
The climates changing, ocean's rising
Washing us away

If everything's all right
Then tell the whole world why
They're scared for all their children
Cause there's no future in sight

Chorus

Better

Written By: Michael Rosso

I know it's hard
For you to see me
Rising to the top

It drives you crazy
Makes you angry
That I ain't gonna stop

You keep on smilin'
All the while when
It eats you up inside

And you can't hide the feelings
I can see them in your eyes

Chorus

I'm a be better better better
Better cause I know you want me to fall
I'm a be better better better
Even when my back's up against the wall
I'm a be better better better
Better than you ever wanted me to be
I'm a be better better better better better better better better

I know you love to
See me falter
You take pleasure in my pain

It makes you happy
To remind me
Of all the mistakes I've made

Give me all of your anger
All your jelousy
Give me the fuel for my fire
Give me what I need

Chorus

Go on give me more or is that all that you've got
Hit me with another one hit me with your best shot

You might think that what you do is slowin' me down
But it only makes me hungrier it only makes me stronger

Chorus

This Time

Written By: Michael Rosso

Baby please
Take me back I've
Made mistakes but
No body's perfect

Guess it's true
When they say that you
Don't know what you've
Got till it's gone

You deserved my
Undivided love
You deserved more
Care and affection

And I hope it
Ain't too late now
Won't you give me
One more chance cause

This time I'm gonna hold you tight
This time I'm gonna make things right
This time I'll never let you go
This time, this time Oh

This time I'll never make you cry
This time I'll never say goodbye
This time I'll never hurt you no
This time, this time Oh

This time, this time oh
This time, this time
This time, this time
This time, this time

Should have been
Understanding I
Should have been your
Shoulder to cry on

But Instead I
Turned my back on you
When you needed me
The most

I was young and
I was blind I
Cared too much what
People said

Now I hope it
Ain't too late love
Won't you give me
One more chance cause

This time I'm gonna hold you tight
This time I'm gonna make things right
This time I'll never let you go
This time, this time Oh

This time I'll never make you cry
This time I'll never say goodbye
This time I'll never hurt you no
This time, this time Oh

This time, this time oh
This time, this time
This time, this time
This time, this time

Bridge

And if you could find it in your heart
To forgive me we can start all over again

And I promise I'll be what you need
Give you everything I never did before

This time I'm gonna hold you tight in my arms, yeah
I'm gonna make things right from wrong
And I'll never let you go, yeah
This time, this time, oh, yeah
This time, this time, oh

This time I'm gonna hold you tight

Time to Let Go

Written By: Michael Rosso

We've been down this road before
This path looks so familiar
But it doesn't get
Any easier we're

Caught inside a hurricane
Our lives have been turned inside out we've
Tried so many times but
Never found the answers

Now what do we do?
Keep on trying to make it
Or just admit our love is gone

We both know
We've reached the end my love
There's nowhere left to go
And we both tried
We gave it everything
We've done all we can do
It's time to let go
It's time to let go

Hurtful, angry, spiteful games
The kind that stab so deeply
The ones we like to play
'Cause we've forgotten love
It's hard to let it go because we're
Tangled in a life together
But we both know
There's nowhere left to go no
no

Now what do we do?
Keep on trying to make it
Or just admit our love is gone
Gone, gone, gone

We both know
We've reached the end my love
There's nowhere left to go
And we both tried
We gave it everything
We've done all we can do
It's time to let go
It's time to let go

We've been down this road before
This path looks so familiar

You're a Star

Written By: Michael Rosso

You're a Star

Lighted mirror
Make-up chair
Feeling like a star

Screaming fans
Hear to see you
They know who you are

The biggest
Badest artist to
Ever hit the stage

You could say
What you want
They'll never turn away

Cause,

Chorus 1

You're famous
You're a star
That is what you are

Every day
Every night
Playing out the part

You're famous
You're a star
Drivin' fancy cars

Born to shine
All time
You can do no wrong

You're a star (repeat 4x)

Red carpets
Autographs
Praises from above

Millions of them
Here to see you
Came to show you love
The biggest
Badest actor to
Ever hit the screen

You can do
What you want to
It won't change a thing

Cause,

Chorus 2

You're famous
You're a star
That is what you are

Every day
Every night
Buying out the bar

You're famous
You're a star
Drivin' fancy cars

Born to shine
All time
You can do no wrong

You're a star (repeat 4x)

Flashing lights
Interviews
Picture perfect press reviews

Private parties
Limousines
Everything you want and need

Tonnes of girls
Tour the world
Giant diamonds strings of pearl

But this won't
Last forever
Nothing does
But whatever...
