I am a singer/sonwriter that specializes in Soul/R&B but perfoms all styles of music. I am a solo act and perform with my own instrumental tracks and my style is very similar to that of Brian McKnight.

Biography

Hailing from Joshua, Texas, a small town just outside of Fort Worth, Michael Scarlett has been singing since he was a child. At an early age Scarlett began learning to play the piano and throughout his short career, Michael has enjoyed the people who have come into his life through music. One person that he learned a lot from was Motown bassist, Ron Brown, who produced Michael’s first recording session. Brown has recorded with such artists as Barry White, Stevie Wonder, the Beach Boys, the Jackson 5, ect.

In the summer of 2000 Scarlett recorded his first promotional CD entitled The Project CD, this independently recorded album, was released in the fall of 2000. During that same summer, Brown passed along his experiences to Scarlett. The influence of Brown on Michael’s music is evident in the change of the young singer’s Pop oriented sound to a stronger R&B feel.

Michael’s music has also been influenced by such artists as Brian McKnight, Take 6, John Mayer, Steven Curtis Chapman, Brian Duncan, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Donnell Jones and by such styles as Christian, R&B, Rock, Pop, and Jazz.

The past 6 years Michael has been working for the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer and Chaplain's Assistant serving one tour in Iraq and 2 years in Germany. Michael currently works for the USAREUR Soldiers Chorus based in Heidelberg, Germany where he is honing is vocal and musical ability. In the near future he plans on releasing his debut album entitled "Project M2".
