Encompassing a diverse range of styles, ideas and moods, Michael Strong and the Ghost Anyway harness an original and realised sound. Their songwriting nurtures atmospheric and elegant arrangements, amidst stunning harmonies and lyrics that tickle the mind with vibrance and depth.
Their sophisticated blend of blues and soul infused pop first turned heads locally in 2009, with the release of their ambitious full length album, "On The Outskirts Of Logic Town". As a result, Strong & co. picked up a WAM Song Of The Year Award and gigged tirelessly in the Perth music scene for the next 12 months, winning the hearts and minds of critics and music lovers alike, without the benefits of the hype machines and hyperbole that surround so many other emerging acts.
Now, with a new sense of focus and direction, the band is about to independently put out it's second record, due for release in April 2011. "Black Room White Room" is a collection of five tracks charged with personality, hooks and fire, with the lead single, "Young Heart" being perhaps the highlight of Strong's short but vibrant career so far.
