Biography

Michael Trieb is Singer-songwriter from St Louis, Missouri. For a year Michael brought his music to his fans by simply hitting the coffee houses and venues, just him and his guitar.

Michael spent all summer of 2010 recording his debut full-length album by himself in his bedroom located in his basement. Chase Weber of Clayton Jones Band spent August-November of 2010 mixing and mastering the CD.

The album "Again and Again" was released in early December 2010, and is available on websites such as iTunes and Bandcamp as well as hard copies. His friendship with members of national band "Paper Route" and former Blackroom Records artists "For All The Drifters" has allowed him to reach people with his music he never thought possible.

Michael's music has been compared to the music of Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Sufjan Stevens, and Fleet Foxes. His chill folk-style music, accompanied by his genuine attitude and "old soul" personality, make him a delight to all who have heard him.

Michael atttends Greenville College in Greenville, IL, and is majoring in Digital Media, emphasis in Video.

Lyrics

Again And Again

Written By: Michael Trieb

Pick a date and run away
Or choose to stay and rot away again
and again and again

A squeeky swing, a broken dream
You're in-between so many things again
And again and again

If only someone tried
staying up all night, all night
With eyes open wide, changing with the light

Blaze a trail, or go set sail
It's getting stale and it's fading pale again
And again and again

Go outside, it's cold inside
You'll know it when you feel it
Stay outside, it's raining inside
You'll know it when you see it again
And again, and again and again

Leave Everything

Written By: Michael Trieb

I man said to me "You have too many things
I can set you free, so that you can finally see"
I'll never forget his familiar tone
When he said It's time to go

He said leave everything you own behind
Leave everything you own behind

I'm locked in my room, and I am never coming out
This is my space, this is where I'm free to shout
But if these walls could talk,
I bet they'd say what I could not

They'd say leave everything you own behind
Leave everything you own behind
Lose everything to gain your life
Leave everything you own behind

I'll collect all that's been hiding, and lock it inside of a cage
I'll throw it into the ocean, and pray that it sinks to the bottom
I'll write a letter own warning to whomever I could have become
And I'll set my world into motion, but never forget where I came from

Dead Seed

Written By: Michael Trieb

Make me a dead seed
Buried in the ground, buried in the ground
Wash me, watch over me
As I'm buried in the ground, buried in the ground

Sure I've seen the light of day but I have not seen the sun
Help me to wait patiently until the day is done

Make me a dead seed
Buried in the ground, buried in the ground
Wash me, watch over me
As I'm buried in the ground, buried in the ground

Let me be the seed I sow so I could reap a tree
Growing taller so that only you could count my leaves

You can only fall so far, fall so far, fall so far
You can only fall so far, fall so far, fall so far

It only took so long for me to finally come to know
That every single sinful seed must die before it grows

I WIll Follow You

Written By: Michael Trieb

I could have something on my mind
And you're the first to care
You're the first to care
You could have better things to do
But you're the first to care
You're the first to care

I can be hanging by a thread
And you're the first to care
You're the first to care
You can be miles away
But you're the first to care
You're the first to care
You can go where no one's gone before
I will follow you
I will follow you

I can be nice and settled in
But I will follow you
I will follow you
If I were ever to forget your name
You'd remember me
You'd remember me

If I were to lose all memory
You'd remember me
You'd still remember me
You can make it like we never met
I'll remember you
I'll remember you
You can leave me here for dead
I will pray for you
I will cry for you

Ghosts

Written By: Michael Trieb

I found her coat frozen in the snow
And I wondered what color it used to be
And you found his hat underneath the laundromat
That was torn down to the ground of that old town

The long dirt roads have nowhere left to go
But like ghosts they still go on and on
The city's lost its glow everybody used to know
All I'm trying to say is I can't help but notice
Something is gone

The rain fell down, but no one was around
'Cause everyone left, there was nobody left
Left to see
That it soaked down six feet deep
And it gathered at their feet
Even when they're gone they'll still carry on
With something to drink

Oh, we know it goes on and on
Again and again
Oh, what folks we are
We reach so far ahead of time
