Zwischen Roots-Rock, Singer/Songwriter-Pop und Jazz-Einflüssen bewegt sich der schweizerische Gitarrist & Sänger Michael Zander auf seinem Album 'Liquor, Limes & The Treasures Of Life'. Eine harmonische Mischung ist ihm da gelungen, der Song steht immer im Vordergrund und oft sorgen arpeggierte Acoustic-Parts für World-Music-Atmosphäre. Etwas Geschmackssache sind die Gesangsbeiträge, die innerhalb der runden Gesamtproduktion ein wenig zurückbleiben. Dafür entschädigen einige wirklich äußerst gelungene bluesige E-Gitarren-Parts, die in klangtechnischer Hinsicht von Vintage-Freaks gerne als warm und rund bezeichnet werden. Dass Zander, wie er schreibt, ausgesuchtes Equipment eingesetzt hat, wie z. B. Boutique-Amps von Fuchs, Budda, Valvetech oder Bad Cat, glaubt man gerne. Influences:
British guitarist Ritchie Blackmore was my first guitar
Hero & I still dig his playing to this day. In the mid eighties I
came across Eric Johnson & Lee Ritenour. Those two were my main
influences. The versatility of Tommy Emmanuel is another big influence.
After
traveling the southern states so many times I developed a huge interest
in american Bluesmusic.I am a big fan of Flamenco music & blues
music in general.
I really like the piano playing and the arrangements of Keiko Matsui

Artist I really admire; Classical Composers such as Franz Liszt,
Frederic Chopin, Mozart & Igor Strawinsky to name a few.
Born & raised in the northern part of Switzerland in Europe. During my schooling years I was entchanted by art & paintings. I evolved an infatuated affection for the music and its world. From then on I realized my own musical fantasies to get to know and amalgamate the various styles and directions. My cosmopolitan parents (who temporary live in the USA, South Asia and Switzerland) & my brothers provided me with different cultural and ethnic arts & life styles. So youll find romantic, oriental, country, european, southern rock as well as jazz elements in my assortment. Such eclectic musical influence left its fingerprint and contributed richly to the growth of my own personality.
