Michal Wilson Quartet

BandJazzR&B

The Michalangela Quartet is a funky mixture of traditional jazz, R and B, and soul, and yet we've been trained classically. With some original work that successfully combines those genres and jazz standards, we are able to make any event a classy endeavor.

Biography

Michalangela grew up in the unlikely Northern Idaho town of Moscow where she spent her years up until she graduated from college from the University of Idaho. This is the unlikely location of the International Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is held every February. She had the opportunity to be exposed to Jazz at an early age from that and then ended up volunteering and trained and mingled with some of the best jazz artists today. What makes her different is her knowledge of what Jazz is all about and then how she uses that to create her own style of Jazz, R and B, Blues, and Pop in her compositions.

Lyrics

Portland Rain Song

Written By: Michalangela

Steppin' off the curb to trendy third avenue, I feel a strong sensation in my shoe. I've landed ankle deep in the China Sea, and the Portland Rain has had its way with me. Stop rainin', keeps rainin', stop rainin', keeps rainin'. I need a man to lay down coats for me, a man who understands real chivalry, but I am stuck here with my soggy feet, while the Portland rain has had its way with me. Oh why is it pouring on self sufficiency! Independence promised so much glamour for me. Rain and my position aren't melding together. Why do I have to tolerate this weather? I have resolved to find some peace of mind, and kick my feet up now just to unwind, except there's no requirement to be posh, in my brand new pair of red galosh.
