Michel Dey, born in southern Saskatchewan, is a touring drummer who transitioned into a Modern Country solo artist. Michel currently resides in Regina, SK Canada, and is influenced by the idea of writing songs that can become the soundtrack to the listener's most sentimental memories.
Finding a voice in country music came naturally for Michel, his roots are grounded in the Country music he heard on AM radio while growing up in a small Saskatchewan town. The recent pandemic challenged Michel to rethink his goals and aspirations; it was decided that writing and performing music was a far-reaching passion in his life and that he would pursue it relentlessly.
“Wild and Free”, Michel's debut single released on September 3rd. The track is written about friends who can be potential lovers and travel between the beautiful landscape of the prairies in Saskatchewan, to the foothills of Alberta. Wild and free currently has 20,000+ streams on Spotify, was added to 9 local radio station rotations, and peaked at position #21 of #100 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown.
