Bio
The daughter of a western Kansas truck driver, Michele Crockett grew up listening to "real" country music. Her own music always starts with (in Harlan Howard's words) "three chords and the truth" -- but she mixes in bluegrass, swing, rock, and blues. Her goal is to put the listener in a particular place: Spending your paycheck at the local bar that's your home away from home on a Friday night. Driving on a blue highway in the cold morning light with someone who no longer loves you. Remembering your sainted granny, who happened to be a moonshiner. Crockett's songs portray the wistful attempts of everyday folks to make everyday things matter.
