"Producer's Remark"

"Michelle Cameron is one of the finest studio musicians I've ever had the opportunity to record with. It's rare to find someone who combines the precision and discipline of classical music with the spirit and flair of a folk artist. She's simply superb!" - Hank Cramer, Managing Partner, Ferryboat Music LLC

Bio

Michelle Cameron is a gifted cellist who performs a wide range of genres, from classical to folk to celtic to maritime music.

Originally from California, Michelle earned her Ph.D in physical chemistry at the University of Colorado. She now lives in the “Tri-Cities” area of Washington state, where she is the principal cellist with the Mid-Columbia Symphony (but a chemist by day!). She also performs, tours, and records with several Northwest folk groups. These include Humphrey, Hartman, & Cameron (women’s songwriter trio); Constellation’s Crew (sea music ensemble); and Hank Cramer (traditional folk). She also serves as the music director of her church.

Michelle’s recent appearances include the Mid-Columbia Symphony (Tri-Cities); Tumbleweed Festival (Tri-Cities); the Spokane and Yakima Folk Festivals, Florence Folk Festival (Oregon), Lunenburg Folk Harbour (Nova Scotia); the National Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (Baker City, OR); and the Black Rose Acoustic Society (Colorado Springs).

Michelle has recorded cello, bass, and vocal tracks on seven CD’s, and has just released a solo instrumental project. She played cello on Hank Cramer’s CD “Way Out West”, including “My Sweet Wyoming Home”, one of Heartland Public Radio's Top Five Cowboy Songs of 2007.

Michelle can be contacted at mihoshi2@juno.com, or through Ferryboat Music, Box 22, Winthrop WA 98863.

Michelle's new album, Memories of Our Future (a compilation of instrumentals of traditional and newer hymns), can be purchased by contacting her. It can also be purchased locally in the Tri-Cities area at "Parable Bookstore" or the Richland "Hastings".
