"Another Real Woman"

"This gorgeous, young musician moved to Red Deer from St.Paul,Ab, and studied Music Merchandising for two years before majoring in Performance at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton,AB. Born Michelle Bahrynowski (she adopted her Stepfather's last name for her professional name), Miss Joly stuns with gorgeous Metis Looks: a mane of jet black hair and dark, sparkling eyes.....Michelle's musical influences include true writer's and musicians like Joni Mitchell, Jan Arden, Brandy Carlyle, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Martin Sexton as well as jazz greats like Ella, Billie and Sarah. ... Keep your eyes peeled for this diamond in the rough. Michelle's music is and acoustic delight; her sound is richly feminine. With her spirit, attitude and ability, this girl will write her own ticket for everywhere she wants to go." "

Bio

I was born in Edmonton, AB in 1980 and was blessed to be born into a musical family. I sang from a very young age and when I was 19 my mamma gave me a little "needed" push to go to Red Deer College, in Red Deer, AB to inquire about voice lessons.

I graduated with a diploma in Music Merchandising in 2001 and continued my education at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, AB. I graduated there with a Diploma in Vocal Jazz Performance.

From there I went to Nova Scotia and had the opportunity to sing in my first musical "Swing". Living and performing in Antigonish , Nova Scotia changed me as a person and performer. I began songwriting and playing the piano and guitar in 2003. I met some amazingly special people who I will remember for the rest of my life.

Now, in 2011, I have been a Private Music Instructor for 3 years teaching out of 53rd Street Music in Red Deer, Alberta. Yup. Back to my roots. Here I am surrounded by my peers from Red Deer College who have become my Co-workers and lifelong friends. I truely am blessed with what I would call my "Dream Job".

I have had the opportunity to record an album with Morgan McKee, who was one of my teachers at Red Deer College. With him and all my musician buds behind me we have created an album that I am proud to say is very diverse, spiritual and is a product of many creative minds. My plan is to release the album in June of 2011 and tour with my good friend Robbie Hancock from Breslau, Ontario. I recently traveled to Toronto to work on his album with him. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I met great people and learnt so much. It taught me to always take a leap of faith.... sometimes when we feel tentative..... all we need to do is" have a little faith in dreams". www.robbiehancock.com
