Bio

Carving out her own interpretation of the Blues, Michelle Vecchione grinds us through her life experiences with a confluence of artful writing, deliciously dark vocals, and an exceptional mastery of lyricism. Combining Americana, Blues and Acoustic Roots-Rock with powerful vocals, she has successfully fashioned a style that is reminiscent of the understated vocal passion of Peggy Lee and wrapped it in the fire and fury of Janis Joplin.

With credits that blanket the tri-state area, Michelle performs regularly at many of the premier venues in New York City including The Village Underground, The Bitter End and The C Note, and with such critically acclaimed artists as Dave Davies of the Kinks, Richard Shindell of Cry3 fame, and steel guitar pioneer Buddy Cage.

Michelle takes the stage guarded by her trademark Gibson J45 and it is here that she comes alive. Her seduction of the microphone and breathy utterances of love lost punctuate each of her performances. Both powerful and sensual, Michelle's voice will carry the night on
its own merit... but expect more. The crisp and clean exchange of musical phrasing in her
band, VintageBlue, compliments her vocals
perfectly.

Born and raised just outside the exhaust blast of New York City in Bergen County, Michelle completed her first album, Distraction, at just 18, and followed that with a private release of her second work entitled The Early Years in late 2001. Her third effort, My Reign is a fifteen-song album of her most intimate work including songwriting that invites you to experience her willingness to become vulnerable, pushing her beyond a great voice into a great artist.

"Jazzy soulful mistress of the night. Michelle's sweet, yet raspy at times; vocals remind one of the old great Blues singers. Clever lyrics come in tastefully... while Michelle will come in and get as soulful as the bottom of a Jackie D. bottle. Screaming the Blues, this is classic Chicago style! Rip me a new Soul!!"
