Michon Young

Michon C. Young, a native of Gary, Indiana was raised in the C.M.E. Church, where at the age of 9, the Lord began to use her vocal gift. Writing and arranging songs since she was 12 years of age, Michon has always had a passion for music. However, it was only recently that she yielded to the call to use her vocal gift to minister on a full time basis.

In January of 2008, In Obedience to God’s Word, Michon left a prosperous career in corporate America, in Human Resource Management to walk in her calling as a singer / songwriter. Within a few months after leaving corporate America, walking in obedience, without understanding….But trusting in God’s Word, God’s promises began to manifest.

In March of 2008, Michon, performed background vocals for Pastor Marvin L. Winans during the debut concert in Detroit, Michigan for the release of his 1st solo CD, “Alone but Not Alone”. And in October 2008, Michon traveled with Pastor Winans to minister in song at the Grand Opening of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Also In October 2008, Michon opened up for CeCe Winans, Kingdom Tour Concert at Perfecting Church where she ministered her original composition “No Ordinary Love”.

In October 2009, Michon interviewed and performed 3 original Songs on the nationally syndicated cable television program, the “Dorinda Show” on TCT (Total Christian Television), Hosted by Grammy Award winning gospel artist Dorinda Clark Cole.
In July 2010, Michon hosted her first Solo Concert dubbed “The Ultimate Intimate Worship Experience” at the Virgil H. Carr Cultural Arts Center in the historic Harmonie Park Building in Downtown, Detroit, Michigan. During this concert Michon Performed 2 original songs and featured a live band. Michon has also just released her first single “No Ordinary Love”. Michon is currently recording her FIRST Solo CD entitled “Possessing the Promise” on an independent label. The CD is scheduled for Release in the 3rd Quarter of 2011.

Michon is a gifted psalmist and song writer. And within the past year, under the unction of the Holy Spirit has written and arranged over 35 Gospel songs. She is CEO and co-founder of Lyrical Expressions, Incorporated, a songwriting and publishing company.

Michon , along with her husband Minister Will Young III , and son William IV attend Perfecting Church were they have been members for 11+ years and where, Michon is a dedicated member of the Joyful Noise Choir.
