Mick Duffy

Mick Duffy is a Songwriter and Musician from Dublin's Northside.
He self released his first record 'Awakening' in 2007.
It was recorded with Colm Quearney( Q, LIR) at his Qube Analogue Studio's in Dublin.

It was followed up with gigs in Ireland and the UK.

Record number two entitled 'Colour Coded' has been completed. Mick had been working out of Elliott Smith's New Monkey studios in LA on and off over the past couple of years.
The Album was Produced, Engineered and Mixed by Fritz Michaud.
Fritz has toured as an engineer with many bands over the years including the Nine Inch Nails, The Foo Fighters, The SilverSun Pickups and Beck. He has also Produced & Engineered records with Elliott Smith along with US bands, Autolux, Great Northern and The Silver Sun Pickups.

Producer/Engineer Eric Corne (Devotchka, Lucinda Williams and John Mayall) also stepped in to work on a couple of the album tracks. Plus some additional Vocals and Mixing was done on the return to Dublin, at Stano's Loscann Studios by Engineer Willem Blok.

During the recording process Mick was playing gigs around Los Angeles including the Pop Overthrow Festival.

Also joining the fray were drummers Scott McPherson(Beck, Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, Neil Finn) and Davy Latter (Drum Tech for the Arctic Monkees). Other LA musicians included Solen Bixler of the US band Great Northern who lent his fine talents. Guitarist Joel Martin, who's played with a number of people over the years. Keys player Sasha Smith of the west coast band Everclear. Plus Fritz and Eric, who are also fantastic musicians.

The Album was mastered in Brooklyn New York by Kevin Blackler at Blackler Mastering.

The official release date is the 27.03.15. Its a global digital distribution (iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music etc...) with a limited number of hard copies, which are available to purchase from Tower Records and through CD Baby plus future shows. Colour Coded is being released on his Independent label MDM Records.
