Bio
Mickey Ferrer, was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. His musical career starts at an early age, when he begins to play percussion in several musical groups in his hometown.
Ferrer was still a teenager when he moved to Miami in the early 2000s, quickly becoming one of South Florida's most sough-after session players.
He provided backing vocals as well as percussion to countless artist and songs, including Shakira's mega hit Hips Don't Lie, Grammy-nominee Locos por Juana, Indie cult band The Monas and others.
After extensive touring of Europe and North America working as a side musician for many artist, Ferrer began to pen the first songs of what would become his debut album.
He would later team up with producer Pablo Toro who proves crucial in developing Ferrer's vision of what he wanted his music to be.
Along with Toro, and a who's who of South Florida's musical talent, they record Mickey Ferrer & La Hi Class; an eclectic mix of infectious caribbean rhythms and classic rock.
The album was released in the Fall of 2012 by Handshake Music and is available everywhere.
