Mississippi Delta Blues, Inc. - Representing Mickey Rogers – a Mississippi Blues Man who is the real deal.

He spent some time back in the day at Chess Records and at Mo Town doing studio work. He has been playing the Festivals and Clubs in the US and Internationally for forty years or so. Contact us for Booking.

Mickey Rogers is one of Mississippi’s real deal blues musicians. He has traveled throughout the United States and to Holland, Belgium, Australia and New Zealand performing. When Mickey was a teenager he was playing in bars in Chicago. He played with Howling Wolf when he was fifteen at Sylvia’s Lounge in Chicago. He was so young that Howling Wolf would hide Mickey behind the Amps so the police wouldn’t catch him performing underage.

During Mickey’s career he has played with artists like The Jackson 5, The Dramatics, Gladys Knight & The Pips, the Temptations, Chi-Lites, Tyrone Davis and Bobby Rush. He has played with Howling Wolf, Hubert Sumlin, Harold Burrage, Otis Clay, and Jimmi Hendrix and many more.

Mickey was about 19 or 20 when he played with Jimmi Hendrix. Mickey says “Me and him got hooked up together because I was playing with the Chi-lites. He stayed around Washington. We ran into each other and traded licks, you know. Stuff like that. “
