Bio

Mickey grew up in Belle Eagle, Tennessee, known for its delta blues heritage. You can hear this influence in Mickey’s music along with the influence of artists such as Merle Haggard, Delbert McClinton and Elvis. Throughout his childhood, his father and mother shared with him a wide variety of music. As Mickey recalls, "Mama liked country and Daddy liked rock and roll".

Santa brought Mickey a set of drums when he was nine. Playing them day in and day out, he sang along as he played. As a teen he learned to play the guitar and began learning the craft of songwriting. After graduating High School, Mickey continued to write, sing, and play guitar. Shortly thereafter he realized that music definitely flowed through his veins. He took music a step further, playing different club venues, making trips back and forth to Nashville. He decided to audition for and won a spot performing on a country show at Libertyland, a local theme park in Memphis, TN. Performing on this great country show gave Mickey the opportunity to refine his stage presence and learn how to please a crowd. After a few years of doing this show, Mickey bid farewell to the crew at Libertyland and ventured out to different areas of the music business.

He teamed up with producer Clyde Brooks, as well as some of Nashville's top session players and recorded a 3 song demo.
One of the songs, "When The Sun Goes Down", written by Mark Collie & Marty Stuart, went to #1 on the Independent Airplay Charts. Mickey later recorded another CD entitled, "Till I Got It Right". The CD consisted of songs Mickey wrote or co-wrote. The CD was very well received at Mickey's live performances.

Mickey has opened shows for such acts as The Oak Ridge Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Stuart, Survivor and Jefferson Starship. Mickey was invited back and was on the bill at the 24th anniversary Elvis Week at Graceland. Currently he is performing at some of the best known casinos and some of the top cruise lines.

Mickey recently signed a record deal and management agreement with Mick-Armour Records/ Management. He has just finished recording his first CD for the label ("Til Our Hats Float"), produced by Norro Wilson and Rick Holt. Norro is known for discovering such stars as Shania Twain, Sammy Kershaw and Mindy McCready and has also produced headliners such as Kenny Chesney, Reba McIntyre, John Micheal Montgomery and too many others to mention. You will surely find some tunes you will love on his new CD. You will totally enjoy one of Mickey’s live performances, so contact Mickey, get his new CD and attend a show.

You won’t be disappointed.
