The You Side Of Me: Demos Disc

Australian Folk/Jazz duet, Microwave Jenny started when two young, indigenous singer/songwriters, Brendon Boney and Tessa Nuku, met in their latter years of high school, backstage at a show. With the realisation that they shared the same kind of musical direction and an undeniable chemistry, Microwave Jenny was born. Tessa’s versatility and alternative twist to the jazz and pop genres mixed with her ability to make a killer choc top ice cream, makes this 20 year old Central Coast girl a force to be reckoned within the Australian music industry. Brendon had spent the early part of his life growing up in country New South Wales and at first it seemed like he would be playing soccer professionally for a living. But a severe shoulder injury that would keep him out of soccer for 8 months made him realise two things. One, his shoulders were only strong enough to hold up guitars and two, that’s all he wanted to do. They began playing clubs and pubs where their unique brand of Folk/Jazz versions of contemporary songs soon led to a strong following. Their ability to cover artists from Coolio to Missy Higgins to Hanson to Jazz standards and turn them into a style that’s all their own, allows them to play these songs fittingly along side a set of their own material and keeps them a crowd favourite. Drawing influence from artists such as James Taylor, Bill Withers, Van Morrison, Janis Ian and Joni Mitchell, Microwave Jenny aim to promote good vibes, positive spirited music with honest, sincere lyrics and contagious melodies.
