Mictech

Mictech birth name Michael McKinney was born September 7, 2000 in Memphis, TN. Mictech comes from a family of musicians; He started playing trumpet at the age of three (A young prodigy) much like his father and uncle were at his age. His Father, Uncle, Grandmother, and Grandfather are all musicians. By the age of Four he was performing in the front of his home church. Around the age of 6 he stopped playing the trumpet due to his father (who was  his teacher and mentor) going to back to school to get his masters degree. He did not pick back up on music until he reached the 8th grade (age 13). By then he was no longer a prodigy but average. He started to perfect his craft by going to the Stax Music Academy in Memphis where he could again be mentored by his father the musical director at Stax Music Academy.It did not take long before he was earning his spot in regional competitions one known as All-West. At the age of 15 Mictech began to be interested in beat making, his love stemming from Dub-step. He started by making loops and then learning chords to make full on beats. At the age of 16 he started to make poems each one better than the last. Then one day after school he was listening to his favorite artists like Drake, Rihanna and etc. when he wanted to make music like his idols. So he was determined to put his own beats to his own writing. That’s when Mictech was born. Coming out with his first official album late 2019 and an E.P. early 2020.
