Stephanie Blake is 20 years old and has been involved in many local organizations and musical projects over the past six years. She is attending college and majoring in Elementary Music Education. She has been studying classical technique with private instructors, but her passion is singing the blues. Stephanie has been a vocalist for 3 local bands, all comprised of the same group of individuals who make up the band Midas. She was a vocalist for a 10,000 Maniacs Tribute and worked alongside Dennis Drew, Jeff Erickson, and Steve Gustafson from the original group. She was a member of her school's prestigious A'Cappella choir for three years. She has also been involved in Jamestown's Infinity Performing Arts Program for six years.

Cale Hawkins is a 15-year old musician from Bemus Point, NY. He started playing guitar when he was 7 years old, and piano when he was 10. More instruments followed and while his main instruments remain guitar and Hammond B3 organ, he also plays drums, piano/keyboards, bass guitar, bass keys, and several brass and woodwind instruments. Cale Hawkins joined the Infinity Performing Arts Program in May 2003 and has been involved in musical projects and ensembles ranging from jazz to rock, classical to hip-hop, bluegrass to blues. He also works as an organist at Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church, and is a member of the Jamestown, NY band "Midas”. In November 2007, Hawkins won the Memphis Bound Blues Competition in Buffalo, NY which qualified him to represent the WNY Blues Society in January 2008 at the "International Blues Challenge" in Memphis, Tennessee. His own original music may be described as a blend of rock, jazz, funk, R&B, and blues.

Band Biography:
Midas originally came together through the Infinity Performing Arts Program. They have played together for six years, and been involved in many local and community events. Now independent of the Infinity Program, they are looking to broaden their areas of playing. The band has played many venues over the past six years. These venues include, but are not limited to, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Jamestown's Local Music Showcase, Buffalo's Italian Festival, The Great Blue Heron Music Festival,The Reg Lenna Civic Center in Jamestown, and The Floating Stage in Bemus Point NY. Midas has opened for the 10,000 Maniacs twice, once on the Floating Stage in Bemus, and once at the Reg Lenna Civic Center for their 25th Anniversary Concert. They also opened the weekend for the Great Blue Heron Music Festival in 2007. Midas has competed in the Memphis Bound Blues Competition in Buffalo NY for two years in a row. Locally, they have won awards for "Best Cover Band" and "Best Blues Band" in the Chautauqua County Music Awards. They can be classified as a Bluesy/Jam Band with influences including The Allman Brothers, The Derek Trucks Band, Derek and the Dominoes, Susan Tedeschi, and Soulive. Although playing mainly covers right now, the band has developed their own musical style, applying it toward the covers, as well as the creation of their own music, with much more to come.
