Middle Sea came together in Hobart, Tasmania late 2008 and has been playing live for roughly five months.
Leading the band is singer songwriter Crystal Campbell who's songs have laid the foundation to this music bed! Her voice has an element of melancholy and longing beside her acoustic guitar which shares a hint of islander rhythms and harmonies. Middle Sea's recordings embody sweeping guitar backings/solo's from Jamie Pregnell who's lines capture the mood of each song.
Crystal prefers to write what she hears inside herself but of course gains inspiration from her band members and local bands to the more successful such as John Mayer, Chaka Kahn, John Farhnam to name a few.
Their music has been described as something that you would put on while having a glass of wine in the company of friends while letting the sun hit you on a spring or summer day.
