Biography

MiG was one of the three finalists out of fifteen hopefuls who competed on the first season of the hit CBS-TV series Rockstar: INXS. An audience favorite, he wowed viewers with his powerful vocals, commanding stage presence and overall raw talent. MiG is now poised for the big time with his major label debut.

A collection of classic and contemporary rock and roll staples, MiG's debut disc showcases fresh interpretations of his favorite songs including The Police's "Wrapped Around Your Finger," The Rolling Stones "Angie," David Bowie's "Life On Mars," and "Baby I Love Your Way," featuring a guest performance by Peter Frampton himself. MiG also proves his songwriting chops with new originals including the infectious "She Loved," and the radio-friendly "Could It Be," both co-penned with sought-after producer Matthew Wilder (No Doubt, Christina Aguilera). Additional tracks were produced by Rob Mathes, with string arrangements by the renowned Paul Buckmaster (Elton John, Train).

Born in the Philippines and raised in Australia, MiG settled in London for several years making a name for himself in musical theater. The young singer played the lead in Queen's We Will Rock You, and also starred in the smash hit musical Rent. Having done the band circuit earlier in his native Australia, he later pursued dreams of a solo career while in London, where he recorded a four-song EP dubbed The MiGnition Project. MiG endeavored to sell the record on his own website, and even enlisted the help of Queen guitarist Brian May on one of the tracks. It was at precisely this time that the opportunity for Rockstar presented itself. MiG ventured from London to Los Angeles for a successful audition, going on to compete on national television for the chance to become the new lead singer for Aussie band INXS. As the show progressed, he became a quick star with his emotional honesty, and consistent powerful performances each week. After seeing MiG on the program, Universal Music Classics Group quickly signed him to his first major label deal.

In addition to singing, MiG also mastered the piano at a young age, mostly playing Billy Joel tunes. At the same time he was listening to an array of musical styles, such as Stevie Wonder, James Ingram, Earth Wind and Fire, James Brown, Lenny Kravitz, Queen and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. These various influences are evident when spending time with his debut album.

She Loved

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Matthew Wilder

When she got up she said I’ll see you in the morning
I didn’t know my heart would break without a warning
But when you fall in love with madness,
You’re sure to go insane.

She loved walking through the rain
She loved the things we can’t explain
She used to love to laugh for hours
Loved to speak my name
She loved
She loved…

I’m only holding on to dust to find a reason
I’m only marking time, the changing of the seasons
Maybe someday when I’ll surrender
I’ll feel it all again

She loved walking through the rain
She loved the things we can’t explain
She used to love to laugh for hours
Loved to speak my name
She loved…

And I must believe
There was something there in me
She loved.

She loved...

Coz when you fall in love with madness,
You’re sure to go insane.

Now I love walking through the rain
I love the things I can’t explain
And now I love to laugh for hours
I love to scream her name
I loved...
She loved.

Could It Be

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Matthew Wilder

Used to do just what I please
Maybe took more than I need
Living one day at a time
Makin nickels spending dimes

Now there’s nothing in this world
That feels the same to me
It just can’t keep going on
The way it used to be

Could it be my life must change
Cause nothing seems to make sense anymore.
Could it be I’ll never ever be the same
Cause I have never felt like this before.
How good could it be
When all I ever see
Drops me to my knees and makes me wanna cry!
Could it be my life must change?
Could it be you do it for the love?

I can’t live my life alone
Lock myself inside my home
But the devil’s at my door
And he’s screaming out for more

And he’s laughing at the pain
That we’ve brought upon this place
Now I’m standing in the rain
Wondering where to find the grace

Could it be my life must change
Cause nothing seems to make sense anymore.
Could it be I’ll never ever be the same
Cause I have never felt like this before.
How good could it be
When all I ever see
Drops me to my knees and makes me wanna cry!
Could it be my life must change?
Could it be you do it for the love?

Love Oh Could it be
Love will set us free
Love has gotta be the way

You & I

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Matthew Wilder

Black is to white
Like night is to day
Together I thought
We would never stay
Laugh is to cry
Like hot is to cold
But still I am wanting
Your hand to hold
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh

You and I
Should never be together
You and I
Have known this from the start
You were not what I imagined
and I’m not who you dreamed of
Still you and I had to fall in love

Bitter to sweet
Truth never lies
I’ll never give up
If you don’t say die
Rich is to poor
Foolish to wise
Together our hearts
Were a big surprise

You and I
Should never be together
You and I
Have known this from the start
You were not what I imagined
And I’m not who you dreamed of
Still you and I just had to fall in love

Oh what’s meant be
Oh what’s destiny
Fool don’t let love pass you by
Don’t ask why…
You and I
Should never be together
You and I
Have known this from the start
You were not what I imagined
And I’m not who you dreamed of
Still you and I just had to fall in love

High

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Carl Dimataga

There's no-one else I know
That does it for me baby,
There's no-one else can make me fly.
Sugar honey sweet,
I'm talkin about you baby,
The girl that blows my mind.

I'm always lookin for somethin good
I'm always in search of a sign.
I never thought I could feel so cool
When I'm all burnin up inside.

I get high when you kiss me.
I don't know why I get high when you kiss me.
My honey fantasy.

I need it every day.
I'm addicted to you baby.
I gotta get myslef that sweet, sweet high.
There's nothin I can do
I'm a junkie for you baby,
And I want a never ending supply.

I'm always lookin for somethin good
I'm always in search of a sign.
I never thought I could feel so cool
When I'm all burnin up inside.

I get high when you kiss me.
I don't know why I get high when you kiss me.
My honey fantasy.

Move On

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Peter Johansson

I've got somethin to say to you
I don't want you to be confused.
It's not that I don't like your style,
But I don't need this heart to be on trial.

It's not fair, I'm not there,
This is me.
It's not fair, I don't care
But this is me.

I'm just livin my life,
I'm walkin my walk,
I'm singin my song,
I've got to move on.
And I run to the light,
I follow the sun,
I've got to move on
If you're not the one.

Hit me, don't sh*t me,
Don't be afriad.
Excuse me but don't use me
That's the price I've paid.
Can't wait no longer
I've done my time.
This train has come to the end of the line.

It's not fair, I'm not there,
But this is me.
It's not fair, I don't care,
This is me.

I'm just livin my life,
I'm walkin my walk,
I'm singin my song,
I've got to move on.
And I run to the light,
I follow the sun,
I've got to move on
If you're not the one.

Nothing You Do

Written By: MiG Ayesa, Jonas Stuart & Simon Pinto

NOTHIN' YOU DO

I don't wanna be rude to you
Better things to do than make enemies.
But you just keep on pushing me,
You don't wanna see the insanity.
I told you, I showed you how
But you didn't take my lead.
So don't 'dis' me, don't shoot me down,
Just let me be free.

I don't care what you say to me,
Can't take from me what I believe.
Nothin you do can stop me feeling high.
I don't care what you do to me,
Can't take from me my dignity.
Nothin you do can stop me feeling high.

So the choice is for you to make,
So make no mistake,
You should take the time.
You have a chance if you keep it real
But you cannot steal
What's already mine.
I warned you I'd take you out
If you step on my territory.
I'm on to you, I know what you're about,
What's so hard to see?

I don't care what you say to me,
Can't take from me what I believe.
Nothin you do can stop me feeling high.
I don't care what you do to me,
Can't take from me my dignity.
Nothin you do can stop me feeling high.

Nothing can take you higher,
Just don't dis me now.
No nothin you do!

I don't care what you say to me,
Can't take from me what I believe.
Nothin you do can stop me feeling high.
I don't care what you do to me,
Can't take from me my dignity.
Nothin you do can stop me feeling high.

One Big Sky

Written By: MiG Ayesa, Dorian Chea & Liz Vidal

I see the light
Slip behind border lines
Torn from the sky
As the night
Takes me in
And time, holds it’s breath,
And waits
Here motionless for us to see there are

No countries, No boundaries
No borders cut so deep and wide
No cities, No reason
To build these walls so tall and high
Illusions, See through them
And stand with me beneath this one big sky

Look how the day
Finds its way around again
As the dark runs and hides
Frightened of our open eyes.
And feel how we heal
As one
We turn to meet the rising sun now…

No countries, No boundaries
No borders cut so deep and wide
No cities, No reason
To build these walls so tall and high
Illusions, See through them
And stand with me beneath this one big sky

And out across the blue
The message travels through
At the speed of light...

No countries, No boundaries
No borders cut so deep and wide
No cities, No reason
To build these walls so tall and high
Illusions, See through them
And stand with me beneath this one big sky.

Ordinary Man

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Matthew Wilder

When you were small and all the fairy tales that filled your head
Had you believing every word your daddy ever read
I want that dream for you and
Make it all come true but
What’s a man to do
When life comes tumbling down on you

I want to be the one to save you
I want to be the one you run to
I’ll do the best I can
I’m just an ordinary man

When we first fell in love
You made me promise you I’d be
The one who always tells the truth and loves you faithfully
No matter how I try I
Know some days we’ll cry and
Know down deep inside
I’m here when our two worlds collide

Coz I want to be the one to save you
I want to be the one you run to
I’ll do the best I can
But I’m just an ordinary man
It’s just what I am
I’m just an ordinary man

Sometimes rainbows do have
Greys and blues you know that
Some dreams don’t come true
But that don’t mean I don’t love you

I want to be the one to save you
I want to be the one you run to
I’ll do the best I can
I’m just an ordinary man
I’ll do the best I can
I’m just an ordinary man

I want to be the one to save you
I want to be the one you run to
I want to be the one who loves you

Will you take this hand
Of an ordinary man….

Send Down The Angels

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Darren Coggan

This song was written shortly after September 11, 2001.

I say a prayer in cathedrals of stone,
As I wake my weary eyes to the great unknown.
I pray for love and I beg for peace in a world gone wrong
I hope one day we will find our way back home.

Innocent eyes are reaching for a smile
They long to run away and laugh for a while
They search for love and they dream of peace
From a time that's gone
Hope one day they will find their way back home.

Send down the angels, send down the rain
Let the heavens cry and wash away this pain
Send down the angels so that we might live as one
And together we can celebrate the sun.

I shed a tear as I watch the evening news
Buildings burning, babies crying, a world in abuse
They search for life and they hold on tight to a faith of stone
Hoping one day they will find their way back home.

Send down the angels, send down the rain
Let the heavens cry and wash away this pain
Send down the angels so that we might live as one
And together we can celebrate the sun.

Let the sun shine down on me.
Heaven set me free.
Let the sun shine down on me.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun!

Send down the angels, send down the rain
Let the heavens cry and wash away this pain
Send down the angels so that we might live as one
And together we can celebrate the sun.

One Sunset

Written By: MiG Ayesa & Matt Scannell

Do you ever wonder how we got this far
It’s getting hard to heal the scars
It’s like we’re falling at every step
We’re digging deep but there’s not much left
Can’t fight the way the river flows
The water takes us where we need to go

Do you wanna try and live this life
One sunset at a time?
All this pain won’t be in vain
If we learn to leave it all behind
One sunset at a time.

We’re always fearing the days to come,
We talk a lot, what have we done?
Always looking back at what might have been,
We can’t stop before we begin.
Are we running or just running out?
We will make it when the wind allows.

Do you wanna try and live this life
One sunset at a time?
All this pain won’t be in vain
If we learn to leave it all behind
One sunset at a time.

One sunset at a time.
One sunset at a time.

Take my heart my soul my life
Everything I want is in your eyes

Do you wanna try and live this life
One sunset at a time?
All this pain won’t be in vain
If we learn to leave it all behind
One sunset at a time.
