Mighty Fairly’s melodic hooks, insightful lyrics and eclectic mix of instrumentation on their current release, Perfectly Good Airplanes, including African Marimba and Keytar, have created a mounting buzz. Mighty Fairly’s songs simultaneously pull the listener in with clever turns of phrase while never letting their foot stop stomping. The guitar sounds bring a rough and gritty mix to this hook-laden, power pop. Multiple layers of vocals, with intricate harmonies, flow smoothly in otherwise indie songs, brilliantly flipping back and forth between traditional and current underground echos. Their refusal to take themselves too seriously, indicated by their tongue-in-cheek and obviously abstruse lyrics, as well as their camp ridden photography and album art, shows they have a well developed self-sense of humor. Mighty Fairly creates a sound that is unique, profoundly enjoyable, and goose bump raising.

Lyrics

Wake Up

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

Wake up wake up a little farther now and open up your heart, you're missing out on all your friends and anyhow

Enter your time, you got a world to conquer, just not mine Endure your time, you take a shot at this The green tree sits, the tannenbaum is breaking at the wrist Ophelia jumped and you stood idly by

Wake up wake up a little farther now and open up your heart, you're missing out on all your friends and anyhow

Lets watch their kids, don't wish you had none no no you want his Like film your lieing eyes oh they affirm You are under tremendous stress your breast is heaving hard Come bring it round, ya start over again

Wake up wake up a little farther now and open up your heart, you're missing out on all your friends and anyhow

And right some wrongs, your x-ray vision just put me along Another inch you're pushing it too far Faded like, a San Fransisco ship into the night and it ain't right you gotta get control

Wake up wake up a little farther now and open up your heart, you're missing out on all your friends and anyhow

Last Stand Started

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

I am, finally back from, time spent paddling backward, leave it to me to screw it all up
Get off, like an ejection, you fly by, you're flailing your arms like, you might never reach the ground

Ingratiate ourselves to commonplace ideals, that don't burn hot
Lets all find our limit, one last line, ya draw it in the sand, this time

I got my last stand started it's on a hilltop where it's going to end

Call off, all the dogs of, war that make me self conscious, I know I'm not entertaining you
Write off, all of my knowledge, you come up with things I've forgotten, your way wins and I always lose

Ingratiate ourselves to commonplace ideals, that don't burn hot
Lets all find our limit, one last line, ya draw it in the sand, this time

I got my last stand started it's on a hilltop where it's going to end

You are, my puppeteer, no fear abates your help, you are, my puppeteer
I've got to get centered on you, this philosophy you cling to, I've got to get center on you

I got my last stand started it's on a hilltop where it's going to end

Lackluster

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

I know we aren’t in tune, we do the best we can for you
We just need an east coast tour, they’ll dig us, it’s for sure

Gonna learn to play this thing like BB King, you’ll be amazed at the shit I’ll bring
Pretty soon you forget all the, lies I tell, the names I drop and it’s just as well

But we’ve got lackluster on our minds, it has us here so it’s alright

Please send thoughts and letters too, fan mail makes me feel cool
One more thing makes me happy, a stalker who follows me
Gonna learn to rock this thing like Stevie Ray, you’ll be amazed at the shit I’ll play
Pretty soon you forget all the, lies I tell, the names I drop and it’s just as well

But we’ve got lackluster on our minds, it has us here so it’s alright

Every passing day I hope, to make my way and then I spoke and by tomorrow we won’t be, lackluster, lackluster

Gonna learn to play this thing like BB King, you’ll be amazed at the shit I’ll bring
Pretty soon you forget all the, lies I tell, the names I drop and it’s just as well

But we’ve got lackluster on our minds, it has us here so it’s alright

Dosage

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

We are the pieces of her puzzle, we fit like gears in mini-clockworks
She's got the will and magic cup, she walks around like she made us.

Like the recommended dosgae, we've got little printed names,
across our chests and burned in deeply, she takes two of us per day.

Aligned like faithful dominoes, built up around some myths I know
We strain our necks and stare straight up and wait around for you to get unstuck.

She's got some holy brothers, and they're all mother f*ckers [edited version included].
Yeah, she's got some brothers, and they're all mother f*ckers[edited version included].

You're the origin parade, we walk helpless beside you.

Do You

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

I know about, how you dream and how you doubt
I get upset, with all you got with all you never let

Unpaid and living too close to your moms
Living bit and bit until you're nearly gon-
-na be you and me, holdin' so damn tight
We gotta let it, pass us by, just go

Do you know, how to fit in real slow
Does it mean, you're giving up, you're throwing out your dreams

How you believe hold it up yourself, you got too much, going on
And drag it up the self-respect, will go, will find our way back home

I give, all, you got know, I got to crawl
I know about, every shot and every beer downtown.

Movin On

Written By: Mighty Fairly

And you say we're movin' on and I got the tickets wrong, drivin' tonight, ridin' we fight, patience is thin
The damn car is broken down, so far from our hometown, gave you a look, image you took with you forever more.

And I, I am lost again, writing songs with lies, about some long forgotten time

And you say we're movin' on, singing your favorite song, we found harmonies, some 5's and 3's, on our way home.
Your tired and the light is gone, our son said good-bye so long, tears in your eyes, leave me alive, together alone.

And I, I am lost again, writing songs with lies, about some long forgotten time.
And I, how to love someone, when I hate myself. The filthy truth about my life.

We stand apart, I hope to start, to follow you, I know she's got her own life.

Closer To End

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

All you are is perfection
No mistakes like some surgeon
It is watching a fractal all you get is, I love you Sarah

Met you last week your friends birthday
Talk all night ‘bout a million things
Can’t wait to try to make you happy, all you get is, I love you Sarah

Could you say my name once more please
Do you know my number or my email maybe text me, send me all the thoughts you’re thinking
I guess, only one thing makes me whole now
Thoughts of you and all the things we’ll do together, send a yes by phone or maybe by a letter
oh, don’t say no, now I’ve got something worth living for

We went out for just 6 months quick
Married, no one knew our secret
Been together now 20 years, all you get is I love you Sarah
Could you say my name once more please
Do you know my number or my email maybe text me, send me all the thoughts you’re thinking
I guess, only one thing makes me whole now
Thoughts of you and all the things we’ll do together, send a yes by phone or maybe by a letter
oh, don’t say no, now I’ve got something worth living for
Soon we’ll be closer to end than we are to the beginning

Falling To Pieces

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

Oh well, I’m up at 6 again
Oh well, can’t feel the pain I’m in
Begin, days end
Oh well, that’s the game
I’m falling to pieces with you, just like I’m falling to pieces without you
Though understated it’s the way, I’m feeling about you
Though understated like today, relearning to love you
I’m falling to pieces with you, just like I’m falling to pieces without you
Oh well, this heart on my sleeve
Oh well, so sure you’re gonna leave
Fill in, your favorite sin
Oh well, that’s the game

I’m falling to pieces with you, just like I’m falling to pieces without you
Though understated it’s the way, I’m feeling about you
Though understated like today, relearning to love you
I’m falling to pieces with you, just like I’m falling to pieces without you

Live For Love

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

Jackie, she’s not the one for you
You make up for lost time
Find yourself another girl
A new star with which to shine
This ain’t the only love, only love you’ll ever find

Breaks your heart, to see her cry
Your red eyes, her tears you mime
Bury the voices in your head
Your empties all in a line
This ain’t the only love, only love you’ll ever find

I’m watching you break down, your head hung low you
Live for love, live for love, no more

Smiling, you laugh ironically
I mumble, you’ll be just fine
This ain’t the only love, only love you’ll ever find
I’m watching you break down, your head hung low you
Live for love, live for love, no more

Alaska

Written By: Mischa Suemnig

Alaska, you’re comin’ up quickly, ee-ee-ee
Alaska, you’re bigger than I thought, you’d ever be

The air’s so clear, you can see forever here
The air’s so clear and peaceful

Alaska, breath of your air, is cold and clean
Will I start a new life, or revive the last, disaster of me

I want a life, not just a living
I want a love and a family
I want so much
I know to little of life
I want so much to be

Happy, a lover, no longer undercover
Anything that’s meaningful, a reinvented parable
Happy, tell stories and laugh when they get boring
I’ll find this in advancing hills, anticipation nearly kills

I’m headed to Alaska, I’m headed to Alaska
