Mighty Shiny

Rhonda Pelikan and Greg Flint met under mysterious circumstances involving computers and music, eventually became friends and even more eventually found they'd become a two-piece band. Though they rather enjoyed stretching the limits of guitar, vocals and drums, they found that while recording demos, they couldn't help but add bass. So, after two-plus years of playing as a two-piece, they finally recruited Neil Smith to add some much-needed bottom. With the bass itch sufficiently scratched, they fancied themselves something of a kick-ass rock trio.
Mighty Shiny mixes hook-filled anthems of world-weary wayward characters and alcohol-soaked mornings-after with unabashed, shiny pop. They've played local venues past and present including the Skylark, The Blue Moon, The High Dive, Mars Bar, Comet Tavern, The Sunset Tavern, the Re-Bar, EMP's Liquid Lounge, The Crocodile Cafe, and the Showbox, with bands such as H is for Hellgate, We Are Golden, The Redwood Plan, Green Pajamas, Gabe Mintz, Slippage, and more.
Rhonda Pelikan sang, wrote and played guitar in Seattle's Crypt Kicker 5 in her formative years, and has also played and organized solo shows of her own. Greg Flint also plays in Seattle’s Mountain Kids Fantasy, in addition to his duties as auteur of an occasionally-produced comic book. Neil Smith has wielded his axe in various local bands for the past twenty years.
