Bio

His Government name is Steven Dorsey aka: The Mighty Thor. He grew up in the U.S., in 336 Blake Avenue in Brownsville Brooklyn NY. Projects. He was the youngest of 4 kids (He was the only boy). His mother (Lottie Dorsey) raised all of her kids on her own because his father wasn"t around since he was born. His three sisters, Linda, Chrissy, and Margaret tried to keep tabs on him in the streets, but it wasn"t easy. They were a handful themselves and with his bizarre acting out to add to the pressure of single parenthood, his mom finally sought out professional help for him. She sent him to a group home in upstate, NY. He did not know if it helped him or not, but he sure learned alot about survival and independence. When he came home in 1984, he went to Eli Whitney Vocational High School. In spite of all of his wild ways, He was always academically advanced. He was reading at a 12.9 average in the 6th grade! Caught up in rap music, he wanted first to be a human beat box. He was pretty good at it too. One day, he went to see the movie Krush Groove with a friend. He was completely hooked after seeing LL in the movie. he started writing Run-DMC style raps for him and his friend Duane a.k.a Lil' Rock. The Mighty Thor was born! When his best friend, Donald Cooke was brutally murdered over a case of mistaken identity, he snapped. he abandoned all thoughts of college and hit the streets hard. He thought, "If a good person like Donald can die such an ugly death, what was the point of trying to live life by the book.? Even though he let the streets swallow him up, he still used hip-hop to unburden his soul. His lyrics became deeper, sharper, more refined. Soon he was battling the neighborhood rappers and leaving new fans behind him. He had got so cocky that he would go at 2 rappers at once in some battles! It was during one of those handicap matches that he met 2 rappers who lived across the street from him, Hassan and James. After battling them, we started doing shows together for the neighborhood. Before long, we were 8 strong and growing. VOT was in the building "Voices of terror " as we grew into a large, tight knit family we were the "Voices of Truth" and he was determined that we would become bigger than Wu-Tang! He started hitting the studio hard. He also started doing shows wherever he could get a gig! The Days Inn Hotel, Le Bar Bat, Limelight, Wetlands, The Ark, YMCA, Rikers Island Correctional (ARDC), Brooklyn House of Detention, Willies in Harlem & Greek Fest at Jones Beach a couple of times. He was having the time of his life! He had found his calling, after the birth of his first daughter, Tyquasia, he finally let go of the streets and started thinking about the future. Still devoted to the music, He started learning the business end of it. He immediately saw the the big picture and jumped on board. Through years of loyalty, perseverance, patience and hard work. He planted the seeds for a future superpower! Through all of this, his love for hip=hop and dedication to cutting edge lyricism has kept him on top of the game and his steadfastness till today keeps him determined to accomplish his goal of being a successful songwriiter/artist in the music industry, by any means necessary. The future is now! Are you ready for the Mighty Thor.
