Michael Gonzales

I grew up learning the piano. I was classically trained and learned how to read music. With piano in my background, I was able to quickly learn the guitar and drums. I took classical guitar lessons for about 4 years. From there, I started listening to all different types of music (rock, pop, techno, hip hop). I started just recording fun songs for my friends. I would write inside joke songs for my friends and record them. For each song I wrote, I tried to use a different genre when writing a song... so my all songs for each friend have different/interesting/diverse sounds. I record each instrument separately. I start by getting a basic drum track down using a metronome and then later add in the other instruments needed for the song. After multiple recording of each instrument, the song is complete. I grew up with music which is why I love recording fun random inside joke songs for people. I view music as a fun way to express myself and enjoy discovering new sounds.
