Miguel Miranda

I was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, where I lived until the age of 6. I then moved to Tampa, Fl. Where I stayed until I moved to Gainesville in 1995 to attend the University of Florida. Music has always been a part of my life. My grandfather had his own Orchestra and played trumpet with all the great musicians and singers of the time. My great uncle played in a trio, and he was known for his guitar playing as well as his amazing voice. Because of my grandfathers influence, I began taking trumpet lessons in the 7th grade. That was, and still is the only instrument I ever took lessons for. Around the age of 16 my older brother walked into my room and said learn to play the guitar, we're starting a band! So I did! We played youth functions and church events as well as drove our parents crazy at home! It was mainly just for fun until I got to the University of Florida.

In Gainesville, I met a friend by the name of Bobby Pastorius, and we began playing at his apartment and for friends. People began to take notice and insisted we play some of the local open mic nights. We did that for a while and had a great time. Bobby being the consumate business man, started actually booking gigs for us and even got the places to pay us! Next thing I know, we were playing in Gainesville, Tampa, St. Pete, & Clearwater! Thanks to Bobby, I've been able to play great venues like Green Iguana, Margarita Mammas, Adobe Gila's , Harry's/Rum Runners! The list goes on and on. Currently, I play solo gigs mostly in Gainesville, at Cabana Cove, Beer Pit, and private functions.

I am a proud father and husband. I am currently working on my first solo effort , and hope you all enjoy what I have to offer musically!
