“Boys with beards, girls in dresses - makes for a good looking band I reckon. Lots of rustic Augie March influence in this brew. Which is good, because I like Augie March a lot.” - Richard Kingsmill, Triple J lead programmer
“Moody, heartbreaking, stunning, fucking epic.” - Beat Magazine
“Lamplight and a sold-out Northcote Social Club travelled an intense nautically themed journey that was part sea-shanty, part thrash, part croon, and completely fucking breathtaking. The night saw an aggressive and vivid live beast unleashed after many months of recording.” - Beat magazine
“I tried to repeatedly pigeon-hole them to my friend who was with me:
‘well it’s kinda like an acoustic Radiohead but with Danny Elfman-esque string-sections and Buckley guitar-tones and Shoegazer stage presence and…’ They left me musically equally inarticulate and curious, and, that is Lamplight’s charm.” - Adam Baidawi
“Fantastic haunting pop. There are Buckley-esque tones to the vocals - perfect for the soaring melodies. Lovely warm, acoustic instrumentation. Defo one for fans of Augie March, Mum, Beirut etc.” - Dan Buhagiar, Triple J Radio

Mijo Biscan is the creator and band leader of Melbourne’s Alt-Rock-Folk group called Lamplight. Their success in their homeland of Australia propelled Mijo to Europe to continue spreading his music to fans on the other side of the planet.
Mijo has performed with the likes of Grammy award winner Gotye, Clare Bowditch, Missy Higgins, Tommy Emmanuel among many others.
Over the last 15 years of releasing music and touring the world, Mijo has accrued the respect and adoration of music lovers all over Australia and Europe for his engaging live shows.
Ranging from the intimate and gently delivered prose in music that will leave you wondering where you just went, to the enlivening, bombastic chant anthems, enough to start any mild riot.
Although references are made to Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, Fleet Foxes and Leonard Cohen among others, Mijo continues to elude the pigeon-hole of critics with his fiercely unique voice in the world of song writing with his expression and musical inventiveness.
Previously performing with a band of up to 18 people including horn sections, strings and choirs, Mijo has been predominantly solo in recent years until now. Mijo’s new outfit comprises of Danny McKenna on drums (Jeff Lang, Mia Dyson) and Tristan Courtney on bass (The Black Chords, The Tiger and Me).
Mijo is currently in pre-production for his third full length album to be released early/mid 2017.
