MIKA KARNI, a well-known and appreciated musician in Israel, created KOL DODI PROJECT a couple of years ago.

KOL DODI PROJECT is a first ever musical version to one of the world's most beautiful love songs of all time "Shir Ha'Shirim".

The Project is rich with multicultural Israeli musicians and vocalists, giving new meaning to the amazing ancient, holly Jewish psalms.

Mika Karni and the Ensemble recorded their second album "GANAUL" in New York April 2013 and hosted  Elio Vilafranca , a well-known Cuban pianist from NY and Cyro Baptista, a very famous percussionist in the world music scene.

KOL DODI PROJECT had a huge success in the past year in USA & Europe, performed in many festivals and great venues such as SXSW, Kennedy Center, Lafayette int'l world music, Symphony Space NY, Boston Jewish Music Festival, Rialto ethnic Music festival Cyprus, Castle de Lorca JMF Spain, JW3 London  and more.

Mika Karny Professional Music Bio

A trained classical violinist, Mika could read music notation, before she knew her ABC, ( Alef Bet ) .. Her youth was filled with all of the local and European extra curricular classical music enrichment programs, as well as WITZO art school in Haifa and the Berkeley affiliated RIMON school of music in Tel Aviv.
Upon her graduation, Mika played violin and sang with Israeli major star SHLOMO ARTZI, but was quickly noticed and signed by Largest Israeli record Co. HELICON, shaking the industry by showcasing a unique voice, never before achieved locally. That first album garnered ACUM's prize for writer of the year and paved her way to the ears and hearts of a large part of the country's musical scene, as well as getting rave media reviews, a steady pattern which holds true all the way to her present 10th album. Mika's incomparable vocal stamp is also the reason why she's on all other producers and artist's A list, for co productions.
In 98, after meeting local musical entity, Mickey Shaviv, they married and made music together, such as her second album " A true story " and their joint effort, " Another world ", with the No. 1 national hit, " All right by me ". By 2002 Mika
Wrote, composed, arranged and produced her " Minute to minute " album w/ a large classical orchestra and has been helming her projects by herself ever since.
The year 2003, saw Mika and her husband attaining complete artistic independence, by weaning herself from the industry traps and starting their own, " Free style productions ", with a another national success, " Beacon ", a major radio hit for her. That year the couple moved to the upper Galilee's little moshav, " Amirim " and set up a concert hall in their large attic, where for the next ten years, they did hundreds of concerts, with hugely diverse crowds beating a path to their doorstep. 2005 was the year of " Pure and simple ", with the team song being the 8th most radio played song of the year. 2007 was dedicated to saving the forests hit and burnt during the war in Lebanon ( 2006 ).
An album, " The promise " was written and recorded, to allow a part of every record sold was donated to replanting northern burnt forests. Next in 2010, was the " Family album ", which features herself, husband and kids..
As well as her disciplined personal artistic endeavors, Mika also shares her knowledge and original academic gifts, by teaching her inheritance to young would be musicians, writers and singers. She is licensed by the Israeli Board of education. Her present Musical project for the masses are her Jewish Gospel Choirs. Her large choir, " Hashmiini ", is a phenomenal 64 women voices, who sing Biblical psalms, set to original music. " Kol Dodi ", is her ( 10th ) present album, which honors " Shir ha shirim ", with a cast of varied origin Israeli artists and musicians, all set to Mika's most spiritual compositions.
