"Comic Mike Bobbitt talks about LaughFest's Best of the Midwest competition, Full Frontal Nerdity show (video)"

Often there are themes to shows in comedy. There might be all gay shows, all lady shows, urban shows, Latino shows, etc, etc. One of the more interesting shows that happened during LaughFest was last night's Full Frontal Nerdity show.

I spoke with Mike Bobbitt who helped coordinate and organize the show to get it ready for LaughFest. Mike chose specific comics who would be good for the theme of being a ‘nerd.’ No jocks allowed on this show! I am sure that they, and everyone else, will love what is being done. I would expect that there will be jokes about "Star Wars," "Star Trek," other science fiction shows, LARP (if you don’t know what that is you are not a nerd. Congrats!) and many other things of the nerd variety.,

Mike chose five other comics to be on the bill with him. They are Mike Brody, Mikey Mason, Dan Telfer, Jeff Scheen, and Allyson Hood. Bobbitt, Brody and Telfer will also be a part of the Best of the Midwest show which happens at 7 p.m. Wednesday. There will be seven other comics on the bill. They are vying for a nice trophy and a cash prize. There are judges and the audience helps decide! That show happens at the BOB. So come check out the Best of The Midwest on Wed.

I was able to get some video where he talks about Full Frontal Nerdity and the Best of the Midwest. Watch the interview, and you can see why he is comfortable with being a nerd. - MLive

Bio

Mike Bobbitt brings a punk rock edge to his nerd comedy by embracing his obsessions and mocking them at the same time. With the charm and candor of a smart aleck kid who’s ‘just too smart for his own good’, Mike’s been making audiences laugh for years. He brings the audience on a humorous journey through the fumbles and foibles of his everyday life. Mike speaks to a very specific group while maintaining accessibility to the masses.

He's performed at many comedy festivals and was part of the prestigious Comedy Bang Bang live show in Los Angeles where he shared the stage with Louis CK. Mike has filmed two television pilots and lives outside of Detroit with his two cats and thousands of action figures. He also looks good in blue.
