Bio
Mike Cerveni, hailing from Windsor, Ontario, started playing guitar at the age of 11. Heavily influenced by his extremely musical family, he started writing his own songs at the age of 16. Mikes sound is soulful, and speaks to the heart. His voice is pure, and you can feel the emotion when he sings every note.
The World You Know is Mikes debut album, released in autumn of 2010 featuring songs such as On Your Mark, Right Now, and A Moment. The album The World You Know is about coping and getting through loss. We all have tough times, and go through heartache; for Mike, writing was a way to help get out things he couldnt express.
With the debut of his music video Right Now (a song he wrote for his Mother during her battle with cancer), he has consistently gained exposure from radio and television. Mike has had several radio interviews along with his first television appearance on CTVs The Beat.
I wrote Right Now during my Moms battle with cancer a few years ago. It was a tough period for everyone and for me, I didnt really know how to express how I felt about the whole situation. I wrote two songs in dedication of her,Right Now and A Miracle, Cerveni told 99.1 CKXS.
Shortly after the release of his debut music video Right Now, Mike flew to Serbia to perform a show at a venue called Club Underground. It was a great opportunity to perform over there. I met a lot of awesome people and cant wait to go back. Ive had many requests to perform at other venues so Im looking forward to going back next summer.
June 2013, Mike released his new single "What Would You Do?" at the Capitol Theater in Windsor, Ontario and performed it with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. The release event was also a charity to help raise awareness against domestic violence. Mike teamed up with former Miss Canada 2012, Jaclyn Miles, Hiatus House and Well-Come Center for this event.
May 2014, Mike performed at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. He was along side bands from all over the world which included Singapore, Australia and the U.K. He met with music supervisors pitching his music to them for many hours. "Performing for the first time at Canadian Music Week was such a great experience and I met many different people in the industry. Going to these types of events is key to furthering your music career".
Currently, Mike is still promoting his single "What Would You Do?" while working on new songs towards his next album.
