Discography
I have one EP titled 'Mike Freas Blues'.
Here is a quote from the liner notes-
'Well folks, Mike Freas is my favorite country blues guitarist.
There, I said it and I'm glad. Because I DO mean it...'

Bio
I come from a performing background. My parents were both actors. I've been around theatre people since the time I was born.
My grandfather was a musician (trumpet) and played in Chicago, New York, all over the country, from the mid 1920's till the '50's. He played with Ella, Sinatra, Henry Busse, Erroll Garner, The Andrews Sisters. Most of what I know of music I gleaned from him, though I did study with several prominent players in LA.
I usually preform as a solo. The band just sort of happened. Several musicians that I've done gigs and sessions with asked if they could play with me. I said yes.
What sets our music apart is that we're playing blues music from the 1920's, 1930', 1940's that was performed originally solo, and playing that same material within tthe context of a band without losing the authenticity. I also do obscure contemporary blues tunes that no one else could have possibly heard of unless they are a fanatic like me. And of course some songs that I've written.
