Mike Golden & Friends

Mike Golden & Friends is an act based out of Hammond, Ind. It is hard to say when singer/songwriter Mike Golden began the project. He has been writing material for years and gathering friends along the way. MG&F is an acoustic jam band with all music/lyrics done by Mike Golden, and performed live with a variety of different friends at each show. With no drum set or bass guitar MG&F use beer bottles, stomping, and industrial sounds to give each show a unique affect on audiences and a different feel at each performance. With Mike's unique vocal range, intense lyrics/melodies, and most importantly his friends, the sound almost comes to life both on stage or in your headphones. After Mike's high-school band called it quits he began both working part-time and going to a local college as a full-time student. Not happy with his job or classes Mike decided he needed to move out and try school somewhere else. Repeating the same thing in West Lafayette, IN at Purdue University. Through all this Mike never stopped writing music and recording rough demo's on his laptop. When his life seemed that it was only going through the motions, Mike decided it was time to record music again. With the support of his friends giving him all the help he needed (critiquing demo's , rehearsing at shows, discussing music over many beers) Mike played a few shows and instantly fell in love all over again. MG&F has currently been at work recording their debut EP "Trees." The EP is being Co-Produced by Scot Stewart and Mike himself is the Executive Producer. The album will be available via Amazon and Itunes 1st quarter 2010 , with a specific release date to be announced soon.
