"New Haven Advocate"

"If you could sign one local songwriter to a national recording contract--no pact with the devil, the artist would get complete artistic control--whom would you sign and why? Mike Lasala. I have only seen him a few times but he is a true talent." - Ken Cooley

"CTMusic.com"

"He literally walks into a room, plugs in his guitar, and from the moment he starts playing and singing until he finishes, he owns the joint. Plain and simple...his spirited arsenal of infectiously jazzy/funk originals got the crowd going in no time flat." - Al Raebuck

"The Stage"

"The combination of his gritty, powerful, but not overbearing vocals on top of his talented acoustic guitar playing makes for a pleasant, and rather soothing, listening experience...I highly recommend the song "Everybody Else" - Tom Nanos

"Mike Lasala -This Strange Place"

"Eleven acoustic-based tunes that reside happily on the corner of Rock and Folk streets. Simple and well-written with a smoky vocal coating, Mike's songs have a stripped down feel to 'em, as if a full rock band decided to play a set in their living room. Upbeat and flowing, this disc bops along at a decent clip. Lasala also gets to show off his lead guitar chops which ain't nothing to shrug off."- Craig Gilbert, New Haven Advocate - New Haven Advocate 12/7/06

"Singer/Songwriter Mike Lasala finds his musical Place"

Excerpt: "...a voice very similar to Scott Weiland or a later-day Springsteen...With deep confessionals, story songs, and just plain catchy words and melodies, This Strange Place, is a cut above his 2003 debut Somewhere to Be." - Patrick Ferrucci, Register Entertainment Editor, PLAY Magazine - PLAY Magazine 12/6/06

Bio

Mike Lasala (pronounced luh-sal-uh) is a New Haven, CT based performing singer/songwriter who merges gritty vocals, introspective lyrics, and hard-driving acoustic guitar to create his unique brand of acoustic rock. Citing Jimi Hendrix, Cat Stevens, Neil Young and both the Grunge and Classic Rock genres among his influences, Mike's songs convey life lessons, observations, and experiences that seek to reassure others they are not alone on the journey we call life.

Since the October 2003 release of his debut CD "Somewhere to Be" Mike has:

*Performed at numerous coffeehouses, bars, colleges and festivals thoughout CT

*Received airplay on 99.1 WPLR, 1340 WYBC, UltraRadio.com, and Radio Golden Flash in Belgium

*Garnered favorable reviews in the New Haven Advocate, PLAY Magazine and CT Music.com

*Had his song "George the Gifter" picked by PLAY Magazine as one of the 10 best songs of 2006

*Saw Somewhere to Be sell-out 3 times at CDBaby.com and his latest release This Strange Place sell-out twice.

Ambitious, reliable, and always professional, Mike is setting his sights higher with goals of opening for a national act in the coming year and writing new songs for the next CD tentatively titled "Everything is Everyone."
