Mike's music demonstrates extensive influence by many blues and classic rock greats, as well as a unique flare that is all his own. His arrangements widely vary, from simple acoustic guitar/vocal ballads to driving modern rock productions, and just about everything in between. Mike's music demonstrates his range, reflecting the emotion in the subject matter of his songs.
Mike's lyrics are often deep and literary, addressing the hidden meanings of the major events in his life--but he is also capable of simply allowing the music to talk, as well.
"Shades of Grey" represents events and emotions experienced over the five year period since his first CD relased in 2003, entitled "Patchwork." "Shades" demonstrates Mike's growth in his songwriting, his musicianship, and his production capability in this strong follow-up CD.
