Bio

The Mike Lombardo Trio brings new meaning to the phrase “piano rock.” With infectious tunes and catchy melodies, you’re sure to be humming their songs for days. Andy Rumschlag on drums and Ellen Angelico on bass are perfect counterparts to Mike’s piano playing. The trio combinines to form a trifecta of piano-smashing rock musicians.

Mike Lombardo has recorded with/ played with/ opened for artists such as Jane Monheit, the Yellowjackets, Leroy Jones, Amanda Shaw, the Boys and Girls Choir of Harlem Alumni Ensemble, and Ingrid Lucia.

His song ‘This Time Tomorrow’ won the 2008 Upstate New York Songwriting Contest for the jazz category, and was a Finalist in the 2009 USA Songwriting Contest.

Festivals of Music Montreal 2006 awarded him “Most Outstanding Instrumentalist” for his work with the YMCA Center for the Creative Arts All-Star Jazz Ensemble, by whom he was awarded Musician of the Year.

Mike is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in songwriting.
