A true Western sound from the central coast of California, Mike Lopez, writes original timeless songs that reflect his surroundings. Mike was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Part native American, Chumash of the Kalawashaq Village, he embraces the multicultural aspects of his deep roots. His multifaceted background is clearly reflected in his songwriting. Mike has created a wonderful way of telling stories through his original songs.

Juanita's Wing is a particularly special song, for Mike wrote that song for his father, who had been guides along the Chumash path by Juanita Centano, a Chumash Medicine Woman. Santa Barbara County has been gifted to have been witness to Mike's stories in song on a number of occasions. On two separate occasions Mike presented his stories in song for the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. He has also performed the show for the Santa Inez Mission on a cultural heritage day, Five Cities Five Ways, and also for Santa Barbara's First Night in the Sunken Gardens. Summer 2007 Mike performed for the California Historical Society Conference held at the Santa Ynez Historical Museum. At all of these events Mike had an amazing turn out with a wonderfully positive response. These are just among a few of the outstanding events Mike has performed for in California. Presently Mike lives in Oceano, California, where he continues to write, sing and perform his original music. Like a traveling minstrel from the West, guitar in hand, Mike takes to the road with his tour of the United States, Canada and Mexico in 2008.
