Mike Mago

Mike Mago (Michiel Thomassen) is one of fastest rising all round dance personalities at this moment. With productions that are supported by prominent DJ’s around the globe, his record label BMKLTSCH RCRDS and it’s labelnights a cross Europe, Mike is defenitly a cat to keep your eye on, if you haven’t all ready done so.
Mike’s carreer started in 2009 as a frequently seen remixer on the famous blog Palmsout (Remix Sundays) which posted his energetic remixes of Michael Jackson, Spragga Benz, Busta Rhymes and many more. During this moment Mike was also part of the Boemklatsch DJ collective, which was gaining a lot of populairity in The Netherlands and Belgium. Because of this rising succes, Mike decided to focus more on producing for this collective. After producing loads of remixes (including an official one for the Gorillaz) and producing the album Spontaneous Combustion (with featuring artist like Princess Superstar, Aloe Blacc and Mike Lord) Mike picked up producing under his own name aswell. This immediately resulted in a couple of well known remixes, including a remix he did with Bart B More (Strarski – Sunstruck) that was supported by DJ’s like Fake Blood, Laidback Luke, Kissy Sell Out, Drop The Lime, AC Slater, Larry Tee and many more.
By now Mike Mago is a real stagebeast. Highlights of his gigs (solo and as part of Boemklatsch) are Amsterdam Open Air (NL, 2011), Creamfields (UK, 2010), Berlin Festival (GE, 2010), Lowlands (NL, 2007 2008, 2009, 2010), Mysteryland (NL, 2010), Laundryday (BE, 2010) and 10 Days Off (BE, 2010) and he has shared the stage with acts like Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Digitalisme, dr. Lektroluv, MSTRKRFT, Caspa, Tiga, Goose & Bart B More. His sets are known for a fresh, creative and always up-to-date sound fit for main rooms.
In 2009 Mike founded BMKLTSCH RCRDS which has now grown out as one of the biggest electro labels in the scene. Acts like Mightyfools, Gtronic, Dem Slackers are teamed up with remixers like Hostage, Keatch, NT89, High Rankin to hit the Beatport charts each time (in 2010 more then 15 tracks reached the Beatport chart). With its labelnight Taped!, which is now held in Paris and Amsterdam and is expanding to Berlin and London next season, the following of his label will definitely expand.
In short Mike Mago is one of those guys that eats, sleeps and breaths the electro dance scene, trying to always be a step ahead without loosing touch with the main purpose: Making people dance!
