Kennesaw Trio

The Kennesaw Trio is an organic blend of 3 life-long friends playing music together. Daron Meek (lead vocals/guitar), Rocky Barnes (vocals/mandolin), and Mike Mullis (vocals/guitar) have been playing together for over 2 decades. Starting in Elementary School, Rocky, Daron, and bassist Miles Crowe formed a band called the Rhythm Raiders. The band not only played local gigs and festivals, but had the chance to play at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, and were invited by (then) President Jimmy Carter to play for his daughter Amy’s birthday party. In High School, the band added guitarist Mike Mullis and keyboardist Charlie McFall and they eventually changed their name to KENNESAW (a tribute to their hometown). Throughout the 90’s, the band opened for such acts as Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Mark Chestnutt, Terri Clark, and many more. The band received such a following and respect in the Southeast music community that they were asked to be the back-up band for Travis Tritt during a special event for Harley of Atlanta.

Daron, Rocky, and Mike decided that in addition to the full band, they wanted to take the music in an acoustic direction in order to showcase their own songwriting.
In addition to their original material,
the Trio blends traditional Country Classics with the hard driving edge of Southern-style Blues. The result is like a tall glass of iced tea chased with a shot of Tennessee Bourbon! Inspired by such acts as Nickel Creek, Allison Krauss & Union Station, and The Duhks, the Kennesaw Trio mixes an intimate setting with high energy. Taking classic and original material and creating fresh arrangements to fit the acoustic setting gives these boys a unique style and a chance to showcase their talents as musicians and songwriters. From small venues to fish fries and back porches, the Kennesaw Trio always leaves people talkin’!
