Mike Owings b. August 16,1959 in Jacksonville,Florida. Former guitarist with MCA Recording Artist The Allen Collins Band (1984) and CMC Recording Artist Molly Hatchet (1999-2000).
Growing up in the south during the 1960's and developing an ear for music through The Beatles,The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix, it was through these groups and musicians that the spark of the dream was ignighted. Researching deeper into this music led to the discovery of the blues. A soulful roots music that resonated deep within the soul of this Jacksonville street kid. The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd would solidify the foundation in the belief that even a skinny kid from Jacksonville,Florida could make it playing music led to the path that today, some forty years later, finds this Jacksonville guitarist still walking the path chosen so many years ago.
