Mike Roman and the Tellstars

Mike Roman and the Tellstars have just released an album distributed in Best Buy Stores and iTunes called Cha Cha Time. Santana’s original percussion section and Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame members are featured on this album. This is the essential sounds of Latin Rock in its original Santana intent. Mike Roman who has performed with Carlos Santana, has even collaborated with Santana on a song which they have used in a world tour. Carlos himself has fondly said, “Mike Roman sounds like me.”

Mike Roman and the Tellstars have been called Chicago’s Premier Latin Rock Group. Their live shows and authentic Santana sound often feature Santana’s original percussion section. Chepito Areas, the undisputed architect of Santana’s sound and Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame member said, “Mike Roman and the Tellstars are the Santana of the Midwest.” This group has a following and consistently excites audiences with their original music from their current CD release called Cha Cha Time.

This group has tracks playing on several Radio stations (including 97.9 Loop fm) in the Chicago market and featured a special recorded presentation for Barack Obama and the DNC. A play on ABC’s TV show Dancing with the Stars, this 14 piece “musical power house” includes Las Vegas-style Show Girl Dancers they call: Dancing with the Tellstars. They always deliver an exciting and memorable show.

Last year they were the opening act for Los Lobos and also played Taste of Chicago. Two years ago they opened for Jose Feliciano and backed him up as well. These performances entertained 45 - 50,000+ people each time. Last July they played Hammond’s Festival of the Lakes opening for Los Lonely Boys and audience of 30,000.
The Tellstars’ new CD, contains twelve original compositions written by Mike Roman (lead guitar).
