Lyrics

Whatever Happened to You?

Written By: Mike Schmid

Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?
Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?

You always told me the truth
And you kindly
Stood beside me
But now you tell me you're through
Whatever happened to you?

Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?
Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?

You used to shine like the moon
And you gave love
To everyone
But now you darken the room
Whatever happened to you

Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?
Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?

Once you promised me forever ever after We would live so happily and I, I believed you cause i knew, knew exactly who, who it was i loved and knew she loved me too,
too late to change a thing, things aren't what they seemed, seems you were not the kind sweet girl you promised to be when you promised to me that you'd stay forever ever after we would live so happily
but not so happily...

Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?
Tell me
Can you tell me
Whatever happened to you?

The House We Built

Written By: Mike Schmid

If you ever leave me
Don't tell me why
The river of your grievances
Is deep as it's wide
And I'll just go fishing
And see what I find

Well I know
I have my flaws
But it's not like they
Tore down the walls
Of the house we built together

If you ever leave me
Don't write a note
I won't decipher
The words that you wrote
It's been ten years
And I can't crack your code

And I know
I have my flaws
But it's not like they
Tore down the walls
Of the house we built together

I don't need your reasons
I don't want to know
I don't need your reasons
I'll make up my own
Like I was not around
When you hit the ground
I was never one to console you
I was never strong
I was always wrong
But that's just not true

And I know
I have my flaws
But it's not like they
Tore down the walls
Of the house we built together

Today I'm Okay

Written By: Mike Schmid

I keep letting go and then grab hold again
I want off this rollercoaster ride
Sometimes I'm invincible for weeks on end
And sometimes I can't even go outside

Today I'm OK
I don't know about tomorrow
But today I'm OK
Tonight I'm alright
Won't be drowning in my sorrows
Cause tonight I'm alright

Sometimes I go running through the words you said
Sorting out what's false and what was real
And sometimes I can recognize our love is dead
And grateful is the only way to feel

Today I'm OK
I don't know about tomorrow
But today I'm OK
Tonight I'm alright
Won't be drowning in my sorrows
Cause tonight I'm alright

And I could never ask for more
(Till the next time I do)
But in this moment I am sure
That through ups and downs
And through hopes and fears
Love is all around me here

Today I'm OK
I don't know about tomorrow
But today I'm OK
Tonight I'm alright
Won't be drowning in my sorrows
Cause tonight I'm alright

Little Noah

Written By: Mike Schmid

Little one
You don't know
How I miss your face each and every day
When I sleep
And when I wake
I can still hear all the funny sounds you make

And I don't think
That it's okay
That she could pack it up and take you far away
And when you're older
Somewhere down the line
You might start asking for reasons why

But little Noah
Little baby
You should know there's nothing wrong with you
Little Noah
Little baby
This world is a disaster
And she and I are too
But little Noah
Nothing could ever be as perfect as you

In photographs
And in my mind
I am watching your life quickly flashing by
From afar
Cause where you are
Isn't any place I'm welcome anymore

And it hurts
More than I can tell
That I never got the chance to know you well
Now I know
I'm too slow
At boldly jumping headlong into the unknown

But little Noah
Little baby
You should know there's nothing wrong with you
Little Noah
Little baby
This world is hurting deeply
And she and I are too
And little Noah
Nothing will ever be as perfect as you

I love you
And I love her
And I still hold out hope that one day you'll return
