Lead guitarist for Detroit’s legendary Howling Diablos & Face, Mike Smith has been rocking the free world all his life. He's jammed on-stage with Uncle John Turner (Johnny Winter Group), Jimmy McCarty & Johnnie "Bee" Bedanjek (Rockets), Frank Hannon (Tesla) & Kid Rock, to name a few. He has also played many shows opening for the likes of John Entwistle (The Who), Derek Trucks, Gov’t. Mule, Jason Bonham, Dokken, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Mitch Ryder, Missing Persons, Hank Williams, Jr. & Michelle Branch. Mike has also been involved in studio sessions for Arif Mardin, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, George Clinton, R.L. Burnside (produced by Martin Gross) & Anita Baker.
An accomplished guitarist, composer & singer, Mike's repertoire includes electric, acoustic & slide guitar, bass & some keybaords & drums. His distincitive style moves seamlessly through rock, blues, jazz, country - even speed metal and reggae.
Mike is into doing all kinds of studio sessions and reads music proficiently...and don't forget the late-nite blues jams!
