""Salty Language, Peppered Morals" Comes to Traverse City's InsideOut Gallery"

Comedian Mike Stanley returns to InsideOut Gallery to celebrate the Michigan Premier of the new comedy documentary Salty Language, Peppered Morals at the InsideOut Gallery in Traverse City at 9 PM on May 28 and 29, 2010.

In his debut directorial effort, Andrew Zeiter documents acclaimed nationally touring Chicago based Comedian Mike Stanley as he competes in the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival for a chance at $10,000 and national fame. The film has been a labor of love effort for Zeiter who directed, produced, and edited the project over the past 15 months, and was finally premiered on the big screen in Chicago on March 31st. The Traverse City show will be the first screening in Michigan. Along with the screening, Mike Stanley will perform prior to the film and will team up with Zeiter for Q & A after.

Filmed in Boston, Massachusetts, and in around the Chicago Area, the independent film, Salty Language, Peppered Morals chronicles nationally known Standup Comedian Mike Stanley who in 2008 was named by the Chicago Reader as their Readers Choice for Stand-Up Comedian of the Year. The documentary follows Mike as he goes on the road to compete against dozens of other talented stand ups in the well-regarded Boston Comedy Festival. If he wins the contest he will go home with a $10,000 check and national T.V. spot on Comedy Central. The film provides a compelling and brutally honest look at both Mike, and the world of stand-up comedy. Filled with many ups and downs along the way, Mike realizes one thing, that in order to be a successful comic, he must remain true to himself as a comic. In the world of stand-up comedy: laughing is easy, comedy is hard. - My North
