Bio

Mike Vinopal is crazy, jolly, intense, & emotional. He loves music & how it brings people together. He forgoes sleep for music. Mike Vinopal will never be able to play all the music he wants or need to, but he's okay with that. "At least I'll never run out," he says.

After years of performing & touring with many many bands, Vinopal has resettled back in his native, Chicago, where he has found several vehicles allowing him to perform songs of nearly all genres and styles in a variety of combinations.

Mason's Case is a four-piece aggressive indie-rock beast where Vinopal handles lead guitar duties like a maniac. He joined the band a little over a year ago, but it feels like he was always there. Mason's Case celebrated the release of their first "Vinopal-era" EP in October of 2013, influenced by artists such as Muse, Arcade Fire, Jeff Buckley, & Pearl Jam.

Local Motive, led by Vinopal & Chilean vocalist, Daniella Rojas, is heavily influenced by the old school rhythm & blues, funk, & soul. Often compared to groups like Fitz & the Tantrums, Alabama Shakes, & Mayer Hawthorne, the group crafts modern original tunes in the tradition of the old classics you could groove to. They call it the "new-old-school."

Vinopal has also teamed up with his cousin, Chris Vinopal on banjo & harmonica, to get his acoustic fix. This indie-rock/americana/roots fusion goes simply by VINO. With two self-produced low-fi EP's, VINO's originals are classic, often-heartbreaking, & unapologetic in their honesty. The cousins have written songs together since early in their teens. Now in their 30's, they show no sign of letting up. And they have a propensity for featuring special guests.

Vinopal puts on an incredibly dynamic performance, no matter the combination, and is a must see.
