Power-Pop rocker Mikey James brings a fresh, unique style of sunny-pop onto the music scene. The 21-year-old Boston native focuses on heart-felt lyrics, memorable choruses, and catchy synth-riffs to create radio-friendly tunes.

March 2009 marked his solo debut release of “Welcome to the Breakdown!”. The EP, produced by Dennis Carroll, consists of 4 addicting tracks that showcase James’s great sense of making infectious melodies. The lead-track, “Let Me In”, emphasizes on soaring vocals and could easily be a soundtrack for the summer.

A self-taught guitarist, James admits he had much to prove with his solo debut release. “I didn’t start writing music, singing, or playing guitar until I was 19 years old. So to release my first EP at 20, I had to definitely make some people believers”.

When explaining the objective of “Welcome to the Breakdown!” James says, “I wanted to put out something fun that people could relate to, or had experienced. I think that’s ultimately the music that really hits any listener the hardest”.

This winter Mikey James will be entering the studio with major producer Bryan Todd (Ashley Tisdale, Jordin Sparks, Mitchel Musso, Josh Kelley).
