Huakeem “Mikey Montanaa “Green was born in Raleigh, North Carolina to a beautiful mother & father who served in the military. Huakeem moved at the age of 6 years old to Durham, North Carolina where he was raised by his mother and auntie. He attended Park Wood Elementary & Lowes Grove Middle School. Mikey Montanaa started singing before he realized he had the talent of rapping. In his later years in high school, Mikey gained a name for himself; he was very outspoken about his talent & didn’t mind showing you the skills that he was capable of. Unfortunately Mikey dropped out of school to chase his dreams.
Music career

In 2003, Mikey met Privy who is also a musician. Being that they both were talented with a story to tell the world, Privy took Mikey under his wing & created a small group known as “Mono Cartel“. In 2006, things started going downhill & Mikey felt like he needed to be solo. A few months later he ran into an artist by the name of “Nyck Newz” & from there Mikey has built a bigger buzz than ever. Doing shows at local night clubs, skating arenas & many other places; people started remembering his face. 2010 Mikey released a mix tape on datpiff.com titled “Such A Fckn Star” & a few months after he met Mike Washington and Dj Clint Easthood , Mike and Dj Clint Easthood instantly seen the talent that Mikey had & felt like the world should see the same. Hopefully he will become one of the greats & show the gift he was born with to the world.

Mikey Montanaa got the brand of “Cool Guy of Hip Hop” when he was out performing at an event in Raleigh, NC. When a promoter Steven Westbrook gave him that brand because of his music. Steven Said “his music reminds you of that cool guy that everybody has in there circle which everyone loves to be around and follows”. So this is why everyone calls Mikey the cool guy of hip hop.
