Bio

For years the east and west coasts dominated the music scene. Recently, however the rise of new artists from the Midwest has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with. Among them is a rising star named Miko. Born Mikolaj , he resides in Milwaukee, WI. Some might say Miko was destined to be a music artist because as a child, his house was full of musical instruments. In fact, growing up he recalls how he and his Dad would sit on the porch, playing guitar almost every summer night. And so his journey began. After years of practice, he became one with the mic. Through numerous performances on stage and in the studio, he found his artistic niche. His style has been called blue collar hip-hop. This sound is unique to the Midwest, and uniquely Miko. It involves the fusion of rock-influenced tracks with soulful rap lyrics. His hypnotic voice can hold the listeners ear from the beginning to the end of a song.

Though we know it can be hard to find opportunity in the entertainment business, Miko has been fortunate enough to perform on stage with several major label acts including Peety Pablo, 3 6 Mafia, MARZ, DMX,& Shawnna, among others. Just recently Miko was featured on the C.W.B. Southwest album which was sold nation wide under the major independent label Koch. That along with a regional tour in the near future, and an unreleased album creating a huge buzz, has Miko on the edge of stardom. His video shoot for the single “call you out” drew upwards of a 1000 people to multiple locations.

While his song topics may be similar to other artist’s they are told from a refreshing new viewpoint. As he puts it “ get the chip off your shoulder cause the world don't owe you shit " Miko has truly lived a dramatic life and by no means is a stranger to the sad statistics that plague his generation, but he refuses to let that define him.
To sum it up I feel Miko’s music embodies the heart and soul of the working class. It embraces the daily grind of a nine to five. Its punching the clock not cause you want to but because you have to. I knew Miko was unique when I asked him what he plans to do when he makes it, and he replied
“Start over.”
