Bio
Mikrob is a Montreal independent band founded in 1997 by songwriter Jean-Franois Daoust. They play original only, noisy and melodic guitar-driven indie rock.
The current line-up is made of Daoust and ric Deschenes on guitars/vocals, Stphane Dussault on bass and Eric Williams on drums.
In 1998, Mikrob releases a self-titles miniLP; the track Enferm dans une bulle charts on Montreals CISM radio. A series of concerts follow.
Mikrob takes a break from 2001 to 2007: each member focusing on personal projects while raising their kids.
Mikrob revives in 2007 with the arrival of Dusseault (Dewso, Mr Toad, Les tratologues) on bass. The sound becomes more abrasive and the trio will regularly perform on the local scene. The band works on new material and, in 2011 and 2012, ultimately self-produces their first LP.
2012 also sees an important configuration change; Deschenes (Absolu, Le Volume est au maximum, Les poupes pas de tte, Mr Toad) moves to guitar to focus on producing better sonic and vocal arrangements while Williams (Rhinolift) joins to replace him on drums.
Mikrob is currenlty working on new material and is planning to independantly release their next opus in early 2013.
