"REVIEWS OF RECORD - "Sennik""

A relatively young band from Wroclaw creates its own style, which can easily be called “ear-friendly”. The band’s music is reminiscent of Anna Maria Jopek’s repertoire, but is played in a more modernistic fashion. Mikromusic consists of wonderful young musicians, who have already had an opportunity to co-operate with a truly respectable number of music professionals, such as Leszek Mozdzer. The music is complemented by the delicate voice of Natalia Grosiak. The musical output of the band offers a great deal of pleasure and warmth that we miss so much during this season of the year. To sum up, I can truly recommend this record to tender-hearted persons who expect music to carry something more than sounds that you can stamp your feet to. I hope that you will have a good time listening to this music.

"REVIEWS OF RECORD - "Sova" by Mikromusic"

"Mikromusic – „Sova” - Adapter Katarzyna Groniec & Magdalena Falkowska – CD One of the most exciting Polish groups bringing a blend of modern pop and jazz. It was established in 2002 by singer, lyrics writer and composer Natalia Grosiak and guitarist Dawid Korbaczy?ski. Their third album brings some catchy tunes. One of the strengths is Grosiak’s unique voice. „Sova” brings top-shelf modern pop music with a slightly melancholic twist and great piano and trumpet solo parts. The closing song “Por fim” performed by Grosiak in Portuguese in a duet with Joao Teixeira de Sousa is one of the best tracks. " - Maciej Prolinski - Polish Market

Discography

DEBUT ALBUM – MIKROMUSIC
This album was released by the Polish Radio in 2006 and summarised the band’s activity until then. The band had gained character over the years and could capture the listener’s attention entirely not only due to the charming vocalist, but also excellent arrangements and compositions.
The record is a journey across various musical islands – acid jazz, funk, ambient, trip-hop, fusion.

SECOND ALBUM – SENNIK
The record entitled Sennik was released in 2008 by Mikromusic Records – a record label founded by the vocalist and leader of the band, Natalia Grosiak. The title of the album reflects the motif of dream, which frequently appears in the band’s lyrics. On this record, you can hear a beautiful piano intro played by Robert Jarmuzak as well as unique solos and improvisations. The songs, which are written by Natalia Grosiak (lyrics and music) and Dawid Korbaczynski (music) draw from various musical styles, including jazz, trip hop and funky.

THIRD ALBUM – SOVA
On its latest record, Mikromusic offers lively jazz & trip hop songs. Instead of soppy lyrics about love, we will find here a big portion of ironic texts commenting upon the Polish reality. SOVA is a perfectly tailored set of songs, both in terms of instrumental parts, which are full of improvisations, and vocals.
The musicians tried their best to reflect the vitality of the band’s concerts, therefore all instruments were recorded together, which perfectly showed the joy of playing in the band.
The record was produced and released by Adapter Katarzyna Groniec & Magdalena Falkowska.

Bio

Mikromusic is one of the particularly interesting young bands on the Polish musical stage. Its music comprises many styles, but is based on jazz and trip hop. Here it turns out again that these apparently different musical worlds can create an unexpectedly cohesive sound together. The enigmatic voice of the singer Natalia Grosiak is a genuine hallmark of the band, which gains increasingly more recognition every year.
Until now, they have released three records. Their debut album Mikromusic features many guests, including Leszek Mozdzer, multi-instrumentalist Sambor Dudzinski or accordionist Piotr Dziubek.
The second album, entitled Sennik, was released at the turn of December 2008. The title of the record refers to the motif of dream, which appears frequently in the band’s lyrics, whereas the music itself draws from a variety of styles, including jazz, trip hop, funky or even folk music. The whole repertoire is bonded by Natalia’s poetic feminine lyrics.
In the autumn of 2010, the third record of the band, entitled SOVA, will be available for sale. As previously, songs are arranged in jazz & trip hop style. The lyrics and the vitality of music, which was retained thanks to the simultaneous recording of all instruments, deserve particular attention. This third album reinforces the position of Mikromusic on the music market.

The Wroclaw band delivers excellent concerts, during which it creates a unique microclimate with the power of their own talent and unusual arrangements and builds a special feeling of togetherness with the audience.

One of the persons enchanted with the characteristic sound of Mikromusic is the music and radio journalist Marek Niedzwiecki, who distinguished the band by placing the song “Sennik” on his own compilation Smooth Jazz Café vol. 10 beside Anna Maria Jopek, Diana Krall, Simply Red, Stacey Kent, Chris Botti and many other eminent artists from the world of music.
